Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in Block V, Te Kaha Survey District, for a Maori School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a Maori school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Opotiki and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Classification of Roads in Lyttelton Borough

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve the Lyttelton Borough Council's proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Lyttelton Borough.

Roads Classified in Class One

Christchurch–Lyttelton State Highway No. 67 (all that portion within Lyttelton Borough).

Lyttelton–Motukarara Main Highway No. 110 (that portion from its intersection with the Christchurch–Lyttelton State Highway to its intersection with Godley Quay).

Godley Quay.

Roads Classified in Class Two

All other roads within Lyttelton Borough.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Bicycles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936

IN terms of regulation 21, clause 2, of the Traffic Regulations 1936, the Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulation of the red reflector of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act 1949

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waipawa County :—

(1) The Waipawa–Ongaonga Main Highway No. 815, commencing at its junction with the Fernhill–Takapau via Maraekakaho Main Highway No. 339 at Ongaonga, and terminating at a point 44 chains measured along the said Waipawa–Ongaonga Main Highway in a south-easterly direction from the said junction.

(2) Ongaonga–Waipukurau Road, commencing at its junction with the Waipawa–Ongaonga Main Highway No. 815, and terminating at a point 12 chains measured along the said road in a south-westerly direction from the said junction.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

PURSUANT to section 36 of the transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant dated the 18th day of November 1937,* which refers to part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rodney County :—

All that area at Wellsford consisting of those portions of roads hereinafter described :—

(1) The Birkenhead–Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5 (commencing at a point 39 chains measured along the said State highway in a southerly direction from its junction with the Wellsford – Port Albert Main Highway No. 841, and terminating at a point 2 chains measured along the said State highway in a north-westerly direction from its junction with Batten Street).

(2) The Wellsford–Leigh Main Highway No. 389 (commencing at its junction with the Birkenhead–Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5, and terminating at a point 36 chains measured along the said main highway in an easterly direction from the said junction).

(3) The Wellsford – Port Albert Main Highway No. 841 (commencing at its junction with the Birkenhead–Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5, and terminating at a point 8 chains measured along the said main highway in a southerly direction from the said junction).
