LEVELS COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of section 31 of the Finance Act (No. 3), 1944, the Council of the Levels County hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing the redemption of principal and the payment of interest and other charges on a loan of £6,500, authorized to be raised by the Levels County Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of meeting the Council’s share of the cost of constructing protective works at Smithfield Bay in order to prevent erosion by the sea, the said Council of the Levels County hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·704 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (capital value) of all rateable property in the Smithfield Special Rating Area, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is an extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Levels County Council at a meeting of such Council held on the 7th day of February, 1951.
