Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Waimea County (Notice No. Ag. 5140)

THE following special order, made by the Waimea County Council on the 14th day of September 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.


SPECIAL ORDER

THAT the following plants be declared noxious weeds within the Waimea County under the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, namely:—

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus)

Administration of Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in Oroua County (Notice No. Ag. 5142)

THE following resolution, passed by the Oroua County Council on the 9th day of May 1951, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.


RESOLUTION

THAT, as from 1 April 1951, the Oroua County Council assumes responsibility within its district for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Bicycles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936

IN terms of regulation 21, clause 2, of the Traffic Regulations 1936 the Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulation of the red reflector of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Trailer Units Forming Part of a Multi-axled Motor-vehicle to be Trailers

PURSUANT to subsection (1) of section 2 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby determine that two vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto, each forming part of a multi-axled vehicle as defined by section 2 of the said Act, shall be deemed to be trailers.

Two trailer units, Chassis Nos. 1003 and 949811, owned by W. A. Habgood, Limited, Lincoln.

Reorganization of the Territorial Force

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following amendments to New Zealand Gazette Notice No. 55 dated 21 October 1948:—

REORGANIZATION OF THE TERRITORIAL FORCE

Whereas by New Zealand Gazette Notice No. 55, appearing at pages 1298 and 1299 of the New Zealand Gazette dated 21 October 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General was pleased to approve under section 6 (a), Defence Act 1909, of the reorganization of the Territorial Force: And whereas by reason of further reorganization of the New Zealand Army the said Gazette notice requires amending: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve that the said Gazette notice of 21 October 1948 be amended as follows:—

Units Redesignated

By deleting “5th Independent Field Squadron RNZE” in the second column, and substituting “5th Field Squadron RNZE”.
