Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Mobile Winches Exempted from Annual Licence Fees
PURSUANT to paragraph (n) of the First Schedule to the Motor Vehicles (Licensing Fees Exemption) Regulations 1948, as amended by regulation 3 of the Motor Vehicles (Licensing Fees Exemption) Regulations 1948, Amendment No. 1, any motor-vehicle or trailer designed and used on the road exclusively for carrying and operating a winch shall be exempt from the payment of annual licence fees under Part II of the Transport Act 1949.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36
PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be within a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section, to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Hawke's Bay County :—
All that area at Bay View consisting of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway No. 25, commencing at its junction with Greys Road, proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along the said State Highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with the access road to the Bay View Beach, a distance of approximately 56 chains.

Notice of Seaplane Alighting Areas
IT is hereby notified that approval has been given to the areas at Hobsonville, described in the Schedule hereunder, to be used by aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force as seaplane alighting areas. It shall be the responsibility of the Commanding Officer, R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Hobsonville, or his deputy or deputies, to ensure that any of the said areas to be utilized as a seaplane alighting area will be cleared of traffic before being so utilized and that no undue interference to vessels or navigation thereby ensues.
SCHEDULE
Area “ A ”.—An area west of a line bearing 342° T from Boat Rock, commencing 2,100 ft. wide at Boat Rock, extending 15,000 ft. in length, and tapering to 750 ft. wide at the Hobsonville end.
Area “ B ”.—An area 1,200 ft. wide and 9,000 ft. long to the south of a line bearing 080° T from Boat Rock, commencing 2,500 ft. from Boat Rock.
Area “ C ”.—An area 1,200 ft. wide and 9,000 ft. long to the north of a line bearing 294° T from Boat Rock, commencing 1,500 ft. behind Boat Rock and extending to a point 7,500 ft. forward of Boat Rock.
Area “ D ”.—An area 7,500 ft. long and 1,200 ft. wide on the north side of a line bearing 025° T, commencing from a point 4,800 ft. due west of Boat Rock.
The above areas are more particularly delineated on plan numbered W3/116 held in the Works Section, R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters, Wellington.

Board of Trade Notice No. 12—Review of Import Licensing

NOTICE is hereby given :—
(1) That, in response to Board of Trade Notices Nos. 1 and 3, the Board has received statements of objections to the exemption from import licensing in respect of goods from other than scheduled countries comprised in the following items, namely :—
Ex T.I. 136 (2) . . Shirts, pyjamas, and nightdresses, not being knitted or made up from knitted materials ;
Ex T.I. 136 (9) . . Shirts, pyjamas, and nightdresses, being knitted or made up from knitted materials.
(2) That persons, firms, or organizations considering themselves or their members likely to be materially affected by the continuance of the import licensing of these goods and desirous of lodging an objection to such continuance must do so in writing by sending five copies of the statement of objections addressed to the undersigned so as to reach him on or before 3 October 1951 :
(3) That each statement lodged as above should state clearly but concisely the grounds of objection to continuance :
(4) That the Board desires to hear oral representations in regard to the objections and has fixed a hearing for Wednesday, 10 October 1951, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, 1st Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington : and
(5) That those persons, firms, or organizations who have objected in writing to the exemption from licensing, or who in response to this notice lodge objections in writing to the continuance of licensing, may attend the hearing referred to in (4) above.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Tuakau Service Motors, Ltd., corner George Street and Buckland Road, Tuakau, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed service-station premises, corner George Street and Buckland Road, Tuakau.
W. Davies and J. F. Sadlier, Beach Road, Queenstown, have applied for permission to shift two pumps from their present position to a new site on the corner of Athol and Shotover Streets, Queenstown.
V. A. J. Judd, Te Kaha, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Te Kaha.
C. H. Newton, Boundary Road, Tisbury, Southland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Boundary Road, Tisbury, Southland.
D. J. Barlow, Horokiwi Road, Newlands, Wellington, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed service-station and garage premises at Horokiwi Road, Newlands, Wellington.
I. G. M. Boyles, Bold Street, Katikati, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Bold Street, Katikati.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 4 October 1951, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
