Price Order No. 1288 (Amendment No. 2 of Price Order No. 1224),
(Eggs: Invercargill)


PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1288, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1224*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 17th day of September 1951.

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by revoking clauses
    6 and 7, as substituted by Price Order No. 1270†, and substituting
    the following clauses:—

"WHOLESALE PRICES

"6. The maximum price that may be charged or received by
any wholesaler (including a producer selling otherwise than by way
of retail) for any eggs to which this Order applies, shall be:—

Per Dozen.

Price Order No. 1285 (Amendment No. 6 of Price Order No. 1218),
(Main Crop Potatoes)


PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal,
acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, hereby makes the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1285, and shall
    be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1218*
    (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of September

  3. (1) This Order applies with respect to all potatoes which,
    being subject to the principal Order—

(a) Are sold by a grower for delivery at any time after the commencement of this Order and on or before the 30th
day of November 1951 ; or

(b) Are sold by a retailer during the same period.

(2) For the purposes of this Order no potatoes sold on the
basis of f.o.b.s.e. or f.o.r.s.e. shall be deemed to be delivered to
the purchaser after the commencement of this Order if—

(a) In the case of sales f.o.b.s.e. the vessel on which the potatoes
are laden leaves the port of shipment at any time before
midnight on the 13th day of September 1951 ; or

(b) In the case of sales f.o.r.s.e. the trucks on which the potatoes
are laden leave the grower’s station at any time before
midnight of the said date.

(3) Except as provided in the last preceding subclause, potatoes
sold f.o.b.s.e. or f.o.r.s.e. shall be deemed to be delivered to the
purchaser after the commencement of this Order notwithstanding
that they may have been actually laden on board any vessel or
trucks before the commencement of this Order.

MODIFICATION OF PRINCIPAL ORDER WITH RESPECT TO POTATOES
THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THIS ORDER

Growers’ Prices

  1. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal
    Order the maximum price that may be charged by any grower for
    any potatoes to which this Order applies shall be determined in
    accordance with the following scale, namely:—

(a) For Sutton’s Supreme or King Edward potatoes grown in
the South Island and sold for delivery—

a Port in the South Island.

Retailers’ Prices

  1. (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal Order but subject to the provisions of subclause (2) of this
    clause and of subclause (5) of clause 17 of the principal Order the
    maximum price that may be charged by any retailer for any potatoes
    to which this Order applies shall be determined in accordance
    with the following scale, namely:—

(a) In the case of potatoes sold at any place within the Land
Districts of Canterbury, Otago, or Southland—

If sold during the month of September 1951 2½d. per pound.
If sold at any other time during which this
Order remains in force .. .. 2¾d. per pound.

(b) In the case of potatoes sold elsewhere in the South Island :
The appropriate price fixed in paragraph (a) hereof increased by ¼d.
per pound.

(c) In the case of potatoes sold at any place in the North Island
at any time during which this Order remains in force, 3¼d. per pound.

(2) Where any potatoes to which this Order applies are sold
by retail in lots of 14 lb. or 28 lb. or 56 lb. or 112 lb., the maximum
retail price shall not in any case exceed:—

Declaration of Result of Election of Producers’ Representatives on the
Hop Marketing Committee


I, RONALD WILL IRWIN MILLAR, Returning Officer for the
purposes of the election of five (5) producers’ representatives
for appointment to the Hop Marketing Committee, established
by the Hop Marketing Regulations 1939, made under the Marketing Act 1936 and the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act 1934, do
hereby declare the following producers to have been duly nominated,
namely:—

Henry Conrad Beuke,
Lawrence Edward Ewers,
Colin Burdett Hunt,
Jeffrey MacGlashen Inglis,
Laurie Alan Palmer, and
Bertie Thomas Rowling

for the five vacancies on the Committee.

As the number of candidates nominated exceeded the number
of vacancies to be filled, a poll was taken on Wednesday, the 22nd
day of August 1951, for the election of five members to the said
Committee.

As a result of the poll, I hereby declare the result as follows:—
