Recreation Reserve in the Taranaki Land District Brought Under
Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of
August, 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
section 34 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for
recreation in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation
of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said
Act; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Kahui
Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public
domain.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement a total of 2 acres
2 roods 18·16 perches, more or less, being Lot 1, as shown on a plan
deposited in the Land Registry Office at New Plymouth under
No. 6423; and all the land as shown on a plan deposited as aforesaid
under No. 1993; both being parts Section 18, Block XIV, Cape
Survey District. Subject to the reservations and conditions
imposed by section 59 of the Land Act, 1948, and subject also to
the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment
Act, 1950.

the Land Act, 1948, and subject also to the reservations imposed by
section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment Act, 1950. (S.O. plan

Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Ngahere Domain

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 44
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

James Blackmun,
Francis Joseph Cooper,
George Henry Gibson,
Alan Albert Fowke,
Frank Myers,
Archibald John Ross, and
William James Sherlock

to be the Ngahere Domain Board, having control of the land
described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint
Wednesday, the 19th day of September, 1951, at 7.30 o’clock p.m.,
as the time when, and the Ngahere Hall, as the place where, the
first meeting of the Board shall be held.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
44 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

William Amos Burton,
William Henry Ebbitt,
Allan Riddell Hedley,
Ross Lange,
George Mabey,
James McIntosh,
John McIntosh,
Thomas Macmillan, and
George Young

to be the Putorino Domain Board, having control of the land described
in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the
27th day of September, 1951, at 7.30 o’clock p.m., as the time
when, and the Putorino Hall as the place where, the first meeting
of the Board shall be held.

Lands Reserved in the Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Otago
Land Districts

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted
that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart
as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under
pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for
any purpose, which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest,
and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve, subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act, 1948,
and subject also to the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal
Mines Amendment Act, 1950, the lands in the Gisborne, Hawke’s
Bay, Wellington, and Otago Land Districts described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes specified at the end of the
respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be reserved.

SECTION 4, Block VI, Patutahi Survey District: Area, 1 acre 2 roods
34·8 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 4539.) (Resting-place for
