Vesting a Reserve in the Northern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of August, 1951
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for Rabbit Board buildings:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Northern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 9 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Northern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board, in trust, for Rabbit Board buildings.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 13, Block VI, Moeangiangi Survey District: Area, 4 acres 1 rood 27·5 perches, more or less. Subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act, 1948, and subject also to the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment Act, 1950. Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Northbank Settlers’ Public Hall Board

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a public-hall site:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

Archibald Miles William Adams,
Thomas Reginald Black Fowler,
Duncan Gilchrist,
Hazel Jane Gilchrist,
Kenneth Gilchrist,
Kenneth Lawrence Neal,
Ivor Jack Nicholls,
Nancy Evelyn Powell,
Ernest James Robinson, and
Lewis William Wadsworth,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Northbank Settlers’ Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Saturday, 25th day of August, 1951, at 8 o’clock p.m., in the Northbank Hall, Fabian’s Valley, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such time and place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his (or her) stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Northbank and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said building as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said building.

Revoking the Vesting of the Control of a Reserve for a Resting-place for Travelling Stock in the Hawke’s Bay County Council

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto was vested in the Hawke’s Bay County Council for a reserve for a resting-place for travelling stock by an Order in Council dated the 2nd day of July, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 5th day of that month, in pursuance of section 2 of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914:
And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council should be revoked in so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection (2) of section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council hereinbefore referred to in so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a resting-place for travelling stock over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1948.
