Poukawa Drainage Area.—Penalty on Overdue Rates

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the rate-payers within the Poukawa Drainage Rating Area are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1951, unpaid on 14th March, 1951.

Rates may be paid at any money-order office, or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auckland C. 1.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality, and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949

IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant dated the 19th day of November, 1937*, which relates to an area at Fairlie, and doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Mackenzie County—

All that area at Fairlie, bounded to the north by a right line due east and west through a point 7½ chains measured in a north-westerly direction along the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway No. 60 from its junction with Nixon’s Road ; bounded to the east by a right line due north and south through a point 36 chains measured in a south-easterly direction along Talbot Street from its junction with the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway ; bounded to the south by a right line due east and west through a point 30 chains measured in a southerly direction along the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway from its junction with Hamilton Street ; bounded to the west by a right line due north and south through a point 19 chains measured in a westerly direction along School Road from its junction with Gillingham Street ; the boundaries of the whole area being indicated by a red line on plan T.T. 1100 deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington.
