Extending Period Within Which the Royal Commission Appointed to Inquire Into and Report Upon Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances Shall Report

WHEREAS by Our Warrant of date the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His late Majesty dated the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, pursuant to section 27 of the Civil List Act, 1950, and under the authority of and subject to the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, you, the said
Sir Arthur Telford Donnelly,
John Henry Boyes, and
William Edward Barnard
were appointed to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon parliamentary salaries and allowances :
And whereas by Our said Warrant you were required to report not later than the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, your findings and opinions upon the matters thereby referred to you :
And whereas by Our Warrant of date the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, the time within which you were required to report was extended until the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one :
And whereas by Our Warrant of date the thirtieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, the time within which you were required to report was further extended until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one :
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be further extended as hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, We do hereby extend until the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, the time within which you are so required to report :
And We do hereby confirm the said Warrants and Commission save as modified by these presents .
In witness whereof We have caused these presents to be issued and the Seal of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of June, in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, and in the fifteenth year of Our Reign.

Lieutenant-Commander Peter Edward Muers, D.S.C., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Maori" (N), additional, to date 1st July, 1951, and H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel" (N), additional, for passage (date to be reported).
Lieutenant Richard Thomas Hale, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, to date 3rd June, 1951, and reappointed .
Lieutenant Donald Thomas Watts, R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Maori", additional, for two years' Exchange Service in the Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 9th July, 1951 .
Acting Lieutenant Francis Edward John Mason, confirmed in the rank of Lieutenant, to date 3rd May, 1950, with seniority of 25th September, 1949, and reappointed .
Lieutenant (E) Neil Maxwell Cockett, R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel", additional, for passage, to date 21st May, 1951, and H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel" additional, for two years' Exchange Service in the Royal New Zealand Navy (date to be reported), (accounts to be carried in H.M.S. "Terror").
Surgeon Lieutenant Desmond Alexander Purdie, M.B., Ch.B., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel", additional, to date 24th May, 1951. Short-service commission terminated 6th June, 1951, and placed on the Retired List of Officers, to date 7th June, 1951 .
Acting Instructor Lieutenants James Cyril Lancaster Davies, B.A., and Bruce Alan Webster, B.A., confirmed in rank with original seniority of 23rd January, 1950, and 25th January, 1950, respectively .
Lieutenant (S) Cecil John Cole, R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Maori", additional, for two years' Exchange Service in the Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 1st May, 1951, and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel", additional, for passage (date to be reported), (accounts to be carried in H.M.S. "Terror").
Acting Sub-Lieutenant Jeremy Peter Dryden Hall, confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, to date 20th January, 1951, with original seniority of 1st May, 1949 .
Acting Sub-Lieutenant Murray Marcus McIndoe, confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, to date 10th February, 1951, with original seniority of 1st May, 1949 .
Mr. Robert Irvine Tait, M.Sc., entered in the Royal New Zealand Navy (Defence Scientific Corps, Naval Section) on a five-year short-service commission in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant (Special Branch), with seniority of 31st March, 1951, and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel", additional, for training, to date 31st March, 1951 .
Cadets Robin Geoffrey Franklin, Thomas Graham Quinn, and Ian Harvey Douglas Tyler, promoted to the rank of Midshipman, to date 1st May, 1951, with seniority of 1st May, 1951 .
Temporary Senior Commissioned Boatswain William Corbet Laventure, M.B.E., short-service commission extended for one year, to date 1st July, 1951, and reappointed .

The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 27, dated 5th April, 1951, relative to the resignation of Lieutenant D. J. Coleman, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted :—
"Lieutenant D. J. Coleman is transferred to the 1st Battalion, The Wellington West Coast and Taranaki Regiment, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 17th April, 1946, and is seconded to Headquarters, Central Military District, for duty as Personnel Selection Officer. Dated 4th March, 1951."
