BOROUGH OF TAKAPUNA
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the
Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Takapuna Borough Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision of a
pleasure ground; and for the purpose of such public work the
lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required
to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to
the said Council, situate in Lake Road, Takapuna, and is open for
public inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office
hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Lake Road, Takapuna.
SCHEDULE
THAT portion of land containing 1 rood 28·9 perches, more or less,
in the Borough of Takapuna, being part Lot 75 on Deposited Plan
No. 12137, portion of Allotment 84 of the Parish of Takapuna,
being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume
338, folio 79 (Auckland Registry), and coloured yellow on the plan
deposited in the office of the Town Clerk to the Takapuna Borough
Council.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER-RACE
UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1926
IN accordance with section 117 of the Mining Act, 1926, as
amended, notice is given of an application, No. 90/50 in the
Application Record Book at Warden’s Court at Westport, for a
licence for a water-race by the Tunnel Portland Cement Company,
Limited, of London, Cement Manufacturers, over Block I, Steeples
Survey District, Nelson Land District. A copy of the application
may be obtained from the said Court. The application will be
heard on 9th March, 1951, at 10 a.m.

HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Hawera Engineer’s House Loan, 1950, £2,800
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hawera
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £2,800 authorized to be raised by
the Hawera Borough Council under the said Act for the purpose of
providing, constructing, and improving a dwelling for occupation
by the Borough Engineer, the Hawera Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of eighty-six thousandths (86/1000d.)
of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of
the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of
Hawera, described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1925, Vol. II, page
1776, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the
1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of 25 years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting
of the Hawera Borough Council held at the Council Chambers,
High Street, Hawera, on the 22nd day of January, 1951.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Workers’ Dwellings Loan, 1950, £30,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hutt County
Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £30,000 authorized to be raised by
the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of purchasing land and erecting dwellings, the said Hutt
County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth
of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (upon the basis
of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the County
of Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the
1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is
fully paid off.”
We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution
duly passed by the Hutt County Council at an ordinary meeting
of the said Council held in Wellington on 24th January, 1951.
