Position : Lat. 39° 38′ 12″ S; long., 177° 6′ 18″ E. (Chart No. 2528.)

Abridged Description : Gp. Fl. (2) 15 secs. 415 ft. 15M (U).

Details : An unwatched light, electric, showing 2 flashes thus, flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 2·2 secs., flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 12 secs. will be exhibited on or about 14th June, 1951, from a white steel tower in the above position, elevation 415 feet, height of tower 14 feet, arc uninterrupted. Masters of vessels are requested to report on the efficiency of the above light.

DECLARATION BY AN ASSISTANT REGISTRAR DISSOLVING A SOCIETY

I, JOHN LAURIE, Assistant Registrar af Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that The Winton Chamber of Commerce, Incorporated, has ceased operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to private Bills and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled the ELIZA WHITE ORPHANAGE TRUST BILL, 1951.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of New Zealand relating to Private Bills, that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at its next ensuing session on behalf of the trustees of the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, for leave to introduce a Bill to be intituled “An Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, and to vest ST. JOSEPH’S ORPHANAGE in the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch and to extend the powers of the said Trustees.”

The objects of the Bill are—

(1) To vest in the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch the property known as the St. Joseph’s Orphanage, being all that parcel of land containing eleven acres two roods twenty-five perches (11 ac. 2 ro. 25 per.), situate in Block XIV of the Christchurch Survey District, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 9989, part Rural Section 141, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 432, folio 90, and the buildings and other improvements standing thereon and the chattels used in connection therewith upon the trusts created and declared by the Will of ELIZA WHITE, late of Christchurch, Widow, modified as therein appearing.

(2) To incorporate a Board of Management to take over the remaining assets of the estate of the said ELIZA WHITE from the present trustees thereof and to administer the same in accordance with the trusts of the said Will.

(3) To provide for the costs and expenses of the promotion of the said Bill.

(4) To declare the Bill to be a private Bill.
