Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Waipa County.—
(Notice No. Ag. 5002)

Wellington, 26th April, 1951.

THE following special order, made by the Waipa County Council
on the 16th day of April, 1951, is published in accordance
with the provisions of section 3 (4) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, and of all other powers it
thereto enabling, the Waipa County Council hereby, by way of
special order, declares that the following plants are noxious weeds
within the county of Waipa :—

Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle
(Cirsium arvense).
Common Broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Pussy willow (Salix discolor).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Spiderwort (Leycesteria formosa).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).
Viper’s bugloss (Echium vulgare).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus).

THE following special order, made by the Thames County
Council on the 19th day of April, 1951, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950,
the Thames County Council hereby resolves by way of special order,
to declare the following noxious weeds listed in the First Schedule
to this Act to be noxious weeds in the County of Thames, viz :—

Blackberry,
Gorse,
Hawthorn,
Hemlock,
Milk thistle,
Mist flower or Mexican devil,
Nassella tussock,
Ragwort,
Star thistle,
Water hyacinth, and
Winged thistle.

THE following special order, made by the Taupo Town Board
on the 18th day of April, 1951, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3
(1) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, the Taupo Town Board hereby
resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the undermen-
tioned plants are noxious weeds within the Town District of Taupo
and ordered to come into force on the 1st day of May, 1951.

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950, in Otorohanga
County.—(Notice No. Ag. 5005)

THE following resolution passed by the Otorohanga County
Council on the 16th day of April, 1951, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

RESOLUTION

RESOLVED, that in pursuance of section 22 (1) of the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1950, the Otorohanga County Council hereby assumes
responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act,
1950, as from the 1st day of April, 1951.

The Rabbit-skins Levy Fixation Order 1951.—(Notice No
Ag. 5006)

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment
Act, 1947, and having regard to the recommendations of the
Rabbit Destruction Council, the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby
make the following Order.

ORDER.

  1. THIS Order may be cited as the Rabbit-skins Levy Fixation
    Order 1951.

  2. For the purposes of this Order “the said regulations” means
    the Rabbit-skins Levy Regulations 1948.

  3. The rate of the levy to be charged for the purposes of the
    Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, in accordance with that
    Act and the said regulations, on rabbit-skins of whatever class
    produced and sold in New Zealand shall be 100 per centum of the
    price paid or payable by the purchaser of the skins in respect of
    every sale made or effected during the period commencing on the
    1st day of June, 1951, and ending on the 31st day of May, 1952,
    both days inclusive, by a broker by auction or by a rural vendor
    directly to a wholesale trader as respectively defined in the said
    regulations.

N.B.—The rate of the levy fixed by the above Order is the
equivalent of a rate of 50 per centum on the full market value.

THE following special order, made by the Hunterville Town
Board on the 17th day of April, 1951, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1950, the Hunterville Town Board, at its special meeting, being
held this 19th day of March, 1951, hereby resolves and declares, by
way of special order, that—

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus),
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle (Cirsium
arvense
),
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea),
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa),
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris),
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius),
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea),
Gorse (Ulex, any species),
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyantha and Crataegus monogyna),
Hemlock (Conium maculatum),
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum), and
Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum),

being plants mentioned in the First Schedule of the Act, as extended
from time to time by the Governor-General in Council, are noxious
weeds within the Hunterville Town District as from the 1st day of
May, 1951.

Council on the 16th day of April, 1951, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1950.

SPECIAL ORDER

In pursuance of the provisions of section 3 of the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1950, the New Plymouth City Council hereby resolves, by way
of special order, that the plants named in the Schedule hereto (being
plants listed in the First Schedule to the said Act) shall be deemed
to be noxious weeds within the City of New Plymouth.
