Decisions of the Bureau of Industry Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

PURSUANT to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions have been made in respect of applications for licences.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

W. I. Whitehead and Jones, Main Street, Pahiatua, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at Main Street, Pahiatua.

P. O’Connell and K. Kearns, 38 Mowbray Street, Waltham, Christchurch, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and garage premises at 38 Mowbray Street, Waltham, Christchurch.

G. W. Carlyon, Halswell, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from four pumps to be installed on proposed service-station premises at Halswell.

J. C. Simmonds, Newcastle Street, Mahia, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on service-station and store premises at Newcastle Street, Mahia.

C. E. Crooks, East Tamaki Road, East Tamaki, Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on proposed garage premises at East Tamaki Road, East Tamaki, Auckland.

Jordon and Jordon, Ltd., Ngongataha, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Ngongataha.

Acme Service, Ltd., Marine Parade, Napier, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed inside garage premises at Marine Parade, Napier.

R. M. Payton, 29 Halswell Road, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on premises at 29 Halswell Road, Christchurch.

J. M. Mosley, Stirling, South Otago, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Stirling, South Otago.

M. Baker, Waituhi, via Patutahi, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Waituhi, via Patutahi.

V. H. Coombes, corner of Bridge Street and Estuary Road, South Brighton, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on store premises at corner of Bridge Street and Estuary Road, South Brighton.

G. P. Manderson, Main Road, Punakaiki, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on tea-room premises at Main Road, Punakaiki.

Shuttleworth Bros., Ltd., Whitby Road, Wakefield, has applied for permission to shift six pumps from their present position in Whitby Road to another site on the opposite side of the same road.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 3rd May, 1951, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, Box 3025, Wellington.

Notice to Mariners No. 20 of 1951

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—TIMARU

Radio Telephone Established

Position: Signal-station at harbour lighthouse.

Details: Call-sign ZLSD, frequency calling, 2,182 k/cs; working, 2,162 kc/s; emergency communication only, 2,045 kc/s.

Schedule: A fixed schedule is not maintained but when vessels equipped with R/T are approaching the port, within 12 hours before the expected time of arrival, watches will be maintained as follows:—

From 0545 to 0600 hours,
,, 0745 to 0800 hours,
,, 1145 to 1200 hours, and
,, 1745 to 1800 hours,

and at other times by arrangement. The pilot launch at Timaru is also equipped with R/T operating on the above frequencies, call sign ZMLU. No fixed watches are maintained.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Roxburgh, taken on the 15th day of March, 1951, on the proposal of the Roxburgh Borough Council to borrow the sum of seven thousand pounds (£7,000) to provide a permanent augmentation and extension of the Borough water supply:—
