Extending the Period Within Which the Royal Commission on the Waterfront Industry Shall Report

GEORGE THE SIXTH by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, King, Defender of the Faith :

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved Sir ROBERT KENNEDY of Dunedin, lately a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, THOMAS BLOODWORTH, of Auckland, lately a Member of the Legislative Council, and JAMES SAWERS, of Wellington, Retired General Manager of Railways : GREETING :

WHEREAS by Our Warrant dated the 21st day of September, 1950, issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His Late Majesty dated the 11th day of May, 1917, and under the authority of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, you were appointed to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the matter in Our said Warrant set out :

And whereas by our said Warrant you were required to report not later than the 31st day of March, 1951, your findings and opinions on the matters referred to you and your recommendations thereon :

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided :

Now, therefore, we do hereby extend until the 30th day of September, 1951, the time within which you are so required to report :

And we do hereby confirm the said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted save as modified by these presents.

In witness whereof we have caused these presents to be issued and the seal of Our Dominion of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington, this 28th day of March, in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, and in the fifteenth year of Our Reign.

Witness Our Trusty and Well-beloved Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, on whom has been conferred the Victoria Cross, Knight Grand Cross of Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of Our Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Knight Commander of Our Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Companion of Our Distinguished Service Order, Lieutenant-General in Our Army, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over Our Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion.

Mary Isobel Lambie, C.B.E., R.N., R.M., P.G., P.,

to be members of the Dietitians Board under the aforesaid Act as from the 1st day of March, 1951.

Re-appointment of Member of Medical Council Under Medical Practitioners Act, 1950

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 3 of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1950, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby re-appoint

Theodore Grant Gray, C.M.G., M.B., Ch.B. (Univ. Aberd.),

to be a member of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Act for a period of three years as from 5th April, 1951.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Regular Force—

Captain and Quartermaster (temp. Major and Quartermaster) N. B. Mitchell, M.B.E., relinquishes the appointment of C.O., 1st Training Battalion, Linton Camp, and the temporary rank of Major and Quartermaster, and is appointed District Officer, 10th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 16th February, 1951.

Territorial Force—

Captain P. G. Pasley, 14th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 1st February, 1951.

Captain G. T. Rapley, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 2nd June 1947. Dated 26th February, 1951.

Captain J. W. McSkimming, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 28th April, 1948. Dated 8th February, 1951.

Lieutenant I. S. Nicholson, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 15th October, 1946. Dated 14th February, 1951.

Temp. Lieutenant F. R. Tankard, late 22nd Anti-tank Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 19th December, 1942. Dated 1st May, 1949.

Captain (temp. Major) R. B. Hardy, seconded to the Mount Albert Grammar School Cadets, to be Major, with seniority from 1st July, 1943, and is transferred to the N.Z. Cadet Corps. Dated 1st March, 1951.

THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Territorial Force—

Captain D. M. McFarlane, 1st Squadron (Composite), R.N.Z. Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 12th March, 1944. Dated 22nd February, 1951.
