and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for
recreation in the South Auckland Land District described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the
operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II
of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter form part of the
Rotorua Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with
as a public domain by the Rotorua Domain Board.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 6 perches,
more or less, being part of Lot 2 on a plan deposited in the Land
Registry Office at Auckland under No. 23567, being part of Section
32, Suburbs of Rotorua, and part of Section 10, Block I, Tarawera
Survey District, and being part of the land comprised and described
in Certificate of Title, Volume 621, folio 156 (Auckland Registry).

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
section 34 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for
recreation in the Nelson Land District described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation
of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said
Act ; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Granity
Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public
domain.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 4 acres and 22 perches,
more or less, being all the land shown on a plan deposited in the
Land Registry Office at Nelson under No. 3986, being part Lot
16, D.P. 138, and being part of Section 2, Block VI, Ngakawau
Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked L. and S. 1/836A, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged
red.

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart
and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto
as a Maori reservation for the common use of the Ngatihine sub-tribe,
and Maoris generally of the Matawaia district, as a marae.

Appointment of Members of Medical Research Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the Medical Research Council Act, 1950, I,
Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the
following persons, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health,
to be members of the Medical Research Council under the provisions
of the aforesaid Act :—
Philip Patrick Lynch, B.Sc., M.D., Ch.B. (N.Z.), F.R.A.C.P.,
being a person nominated by the New Zealand Branch of
the British Medical Association ;
Sir James Sands Elliott, Kt., LL.D. (Aberd.) (Hon.), M.D.,
Ch.B. (Edin.), F.A.C.S. (Hon.), F.R.A.C.S., being a person
nominated by the Board of Health under the Health Act,
1920 ;
Frederick Horace Smirk, M.D. (Manch.), F.R.C.P. (Lond.),
F.R.A.C.P., being a person nominated by the New
Zealand Committee of the Royal Australasian College of
Physicians ;
George Douglas Robb, B.Sc., M.D., Ch.M. (N.Z.), F.R.C.S.
(Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), being a person nominated by
the New Zealand Committee of the Royal Australasian
College of Surgeons ;
Lyndon Bastings, B.A., D.Sc. (N.Z.), M.Sc. (Cantab.), being a
person nominated by the Royal Society of New Zealand
as being distinguished in scientific research ;
Robert Stevenson Aitken, M.D., D.Phil. (Oxon.), LL.D.
(Dalhousie), F.R.C.P. (Lond.), F.R.C.P. (Edin.) ;
John Patrick Walsh, M.B., B.S. (Melb.), B.D.Sc. (Melb.),
L.D.S. (Vict.), F.D.S.R.C.S. (Eng.) ;
the two last named persons being nominated by the Senate of the
University of New Zealand on the recommendation of the Academic
Board of that University as being distinguished in medical research.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 21st day of February, 1951.
