Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby consent to the assignment to John Alexander Blyth and Kathleen Doris Blyth, both of Timaru, Hotelkeepers, by Marjory Maud Woolley of Peel Forest, Spinster, of her rights, powers, and privileges under an Order in Council dated the 5th day of August, 1936, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 6th day of the same month, at page 1522, authorizing her to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the 5th day of November, 1941, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 6th day of the same month at page 3343, authorizing Ralph Forlong, of Kiwitahi, Farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines, the rights, powers, and privileges under the said Order in Council having been assigned to Thomas Ainsworth Kirk, of Kiwitahi, Farmer, by an Order in Council dated the 10th day of September, 1947, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 18th day of the same month at page 1344.

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Maungakaretu Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MAUNGAKARETU RABBIT DISTRICT
All that land in the Waimarino, Wanganui, and Rangitikei Counties, containing 196,700 acres, more or less, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point, being the junction of the middle of the Wangaehu River with the middle of the Horopito-Bulls via Taihape State Highway, situate in Block XI, Karioi Survey District; thence proceeding south-westerly generally along the middle of the Wangaehu River, aforesaid, to its confluence with the middle of the Koukoupo Stream; thence in an easterly direction generally along the middle of the aforesaid stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 71, Block XII, Ngamatea Survey District; thence to and along the southern boundaries of Section 71, aforesaid, and Section 70, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence across a public road known as Hales Road to the western boundary of part Section 63, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of part Section 63 and Section 66, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Turakina River; thence down the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block I, Tiriraukawa Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction generally along the northern boundary of the Hunterville Rabbit District as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 4th September, 1930, at page 2704, to the middle of the Rangitikei River; thence in a northerly direction generally along the middle of that river and the Hautapu River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Raketapauma 11 2B in Block IV, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence to and along the northern boundary of Raketapauma 11 2B to the middle of the Horopito-Bulls via Taihape State Highway; thence northerly and westerly generally along the middle of that highway to the point of commencement.

Whereas, in pursuance of section 139 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying for the alteration of the boundaries of the Borough of Green Island by the inclusion therein and the exclusion from the County of Taieri of a certain area of land, being land in the said county in respect of which there are no electors:
And whereas, in pursuance of section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, the Local Government Commission has recommended that action in respect of the said petition be taken under section 139 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said section 139 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the 1st day of March, 1951, the boundaries of the Borough of Green Island shall be altered so as to include therein and exclude from the County of Taieri the land described in the Schedule hereto, being land in the said county in respect of which there are no electors.
