Land Subject to the Housing Act, 1919, Declared Crown Land
Available for Reservation Under the Land Act, 1948

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by subsection (1) of section 8 of the Housing Amend-
ment Act, 1940, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule hereto,
being land subject to the Housing Act, 1919, to be Crown land
available for reservation under the Land Act, 1948.

SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 32 perches, more or
less, being Lot 9, Block IV, on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Dunedin under No. 256, being part Section 7, Block III,
East Taieri Survey District (Township of West Mosgiel), and being
all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title,
Volume 194, folio 152, Otago Registry. As the same is more parti-
cularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/160B, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 17th day of February, 1951.

Lands Reserved Under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted
pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), has recommended that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic
purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be scenic reserves under the said Act, and
subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block V, Takahue Survey District, con-
taining by admeasurement 5 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less,
being Lot 2 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Auckland under No. 36828, and being all the land com-
prised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 967, folio 40
(Auckland Registry), and also being part of Old Land Claim 242.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 4/1055, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT

All those areas containing by admeasurement a total of 202
acres, more or less, being parts Section 7, Block XIV, Tutaki
Survey District. As the same are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 4/1049, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
edged red. (S.O. plan 9629.)

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT

Section 398, Block XXXVII, Taringatura Survey District :

of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Akitio County Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby
vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule
hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Akitio County
Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is
to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby
    vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation
    is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year, ending
    on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of receipts
    and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report
    and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the ad-
    ministration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of
    the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance
    with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made
    thereunder.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—PONGAROA SCENIC RESERVE
SECTIONS 1 to 13 inclusive, Block IV, Town of Pongaroa : Area,
7 acres and 31·6 perches, more or less.

Also Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 18, Block VII, Town
of Pongaroa : Area, 3 acres and 19·8 perches, more or less.

Also part of Section 5 and Sections 6 to 16 inclusive, Block
XII ; parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and Sections 11, 13, and
part Section 14, Block XIII, part Section 16, and Sections 14, and
18 to 24 inclusive, Block IX, Town of Pongaroa ; Section 14,
Suburbs of Pongaroa ; and roads within the above area stopped by
Proclamation dated 18th February, 1908, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of 20th February, 1908, page 608 : Area, 48 acres
1 rood 13 perches, more or less.

Also Section 24, Pongaroa Suburbs, Block IX, Mount Cerberus
Survey District : Area, 3 roods 30 perches, more or less.

Also Sections 7 to 13, inclusive, Block V, Town of Pongaroa :
Area, 3 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less.

Also Sections 7, 9, 11, and 13, Block VIII, Town of Pongaroa :
Area, 1 acre, more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,

Appointing Additional Member to Pelorus Scenic Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 21st day of September,
1948, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
30th day of that month, the control of a reserve in the Marlborough
Land District, known as the Pelorus Scenic Reserve was vested
in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant
constituted a special Board by the name of the Pelorus Scenic
Board, in pursuance of section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908 :

And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of
the said Board should be increased :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, doth hereby appoint

Raymond Victor Bythell

to be an additional member of the Pelorus Scenic Board hereinbefore
referred to as from the 1st day of March, 1951.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 17th day of February, 1951.
