Commission to Inquire Into and Report Upon the War Pensions Acts
and Regulations

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:

ERNEST ALBERT LEE, of Timaru, Stipendiary Magistrate,
BERTRAM JOSEPH JACOBS, of Palmerston North, Barrister, and
HERBERT RICHARD CHURTON WILD, of Wellington, Barrister.
GREETING :

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 11th day of October, 1950,
you, the said
Ernest Albert Lee,
Bertram Joseph Jacobs, and
Herbert Richard Churton Wild
were appointed to be a Commission under the Commissions of
Inquiry Act, 1908, for the purposes of the said Warrant duly set
out:
And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report
to me not later than the fifteenth day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and fifty-one:
And whereas it is expedient that the said period shall be extended
as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General, Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the
said Act and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby extend the period within which you shall report to me as by
the said Warrant provided to the fifteenth day of April, one thousand
nine hundred and fifty-one:
And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
on me by the said Act, I do hereby confirm the said Commission
except as altered by these presents.
Given in Executive Council under the hand of His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that
Dominion, this 20th day of December, 1950.

Appointment of Representative on the Ashburton Hospital Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on me by section 19 of the Hospitals Act, 1926, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Mr. George Herbert Bransby Lill, Farmer, of Eiffelton R.D.,
Ashburton,
as representative of the Ashburton County on the Ashburton
Hospital Board.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 15th day of December, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant A. L. Cook, 6th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment,
R.N.Z.A., resigns his commission. Dated 29th October, 1950.
2nd Lieutenant P. H. Sceats, from the Reserve of Officers,
Regimental List, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be 2nd
Lieutenant, with seniority from 10th December, 1947, and is posted

Captain E. V. Dawson, 1st Armoured Car Regiment (New
Zealand Scottish), R.N.Z.A.C., to be Major. Dated 20th June,
1950.
2nd Lieutenant D. J. Adams, 1st Armoured Regiment (Waikato),
R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, 1st Armoured Regiment (Waikato) R.N.Z.A.C., with the rank
of 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 15th October, 1947. Dated
30th November, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Territorial Force—
Captain A. G. Hunter, M.C., 5th Assault Squadron, R.N.Z.E.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Field
Engineer Regiment, R.N.Z.E., with the rank of Captain, with
seniority from 14th January, 1948. Dated 28th November, 1950.
Captain W. H. Harvey, M.C., 5th Assault Squadron, R.N.Z.E.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Field
Engineer Regiment, R.N.Z.E., with the rank of Captain, with
seniority from 1st March, 1950. Dated 28th November, 1950.

Lieutenant J. R. Vickerman to be temp. Captain. Dated 12th

Captain L. A. Murtagh relinquishes the appointment of O.C.,
1st Squadron (Composite), R.N.Z. Sigs., and is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment,
R.N.Z. Sigs., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st
December, 1948. Dated 9th November, 1950.

Captain G. D. Simpson, E.D., from the Reserve of Officers,
General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, to be Captain, with
seniority from 1st October, 1934, and is seconded to the Stratford
Technical High School Cadets. Dated 28th November, 1950.
Alan Frank Smith to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is
seconded to the Stratford Technical High School Cadets. Dated
1st November, 1950.
Ronald George Kirby to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is
seconded to the Marton District High School Cadets. Dated 1st
November, 1950.
The Hawke's Bay Regiment—
Temp. Lieutenant F. E. Coulthard to be Captain, with seniority
from 24th July, 1946, and remains seconded to the Dannevirke
High School Cadets. Dated 6th December, 1950.
The Otago and Southland Regiment—
2nd Lieutenant J. W. McChesney to be Lieutenant and remains
seconded to the Otago Boys' High School Cadets. Dated 15th
November, 1950.
Murray Atkinson to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is
seconded to the Gore High School Cadets. Dated 1st October,
1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS

Captain G. Fordyce, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, The Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be Captain, with
seniority from 15th October, 1945, and is posted to the 2nd Company,
R.N.Z.A.S.C. Dated 7th November, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS
Territorial Force—
Major E. W. Duncan, M.B., Ch.B., D.Obst.R.C.O.G., from the
Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority
from 11th July, 1946, is appointed O.C., 3rd Field Ambulance,
R.N.Z.A.M.C., and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-
Colonel. Dated 22nd November, 1950.
