Order in Council shall come into force and that the Tauhara Rural Fire District shall become a rural fire district on the day following publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette; and doth hereby prescribe that the said district shall be administered for the purposes of the said Act by the Rural Fire Committee hereby constituted.

SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY

Tauhara Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo County, containing approximately 55,000 acres, situated in Blocks XI, XII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Tatuа Survey District, Blocks IX, XIII, and XIV, Takapau Survey District, Blocks II, III, IV, VI, VII, VIII, and XII, Tauhara Survey District, and Blocks I, II, and V, Otukotara Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-east by part Lot 1 on D.P. 15253, being part of Kaingaroa No. 2 West, No. 1 Block; towards the south-east by lines 40 chains north-west of and parallel to the north-western boundaries of Run 60 (permanent State forest, Gazette, 1930, page 2639) to the south-western boundary of Kaingaroa No. 2 West, No. 2 Block, and by a right line to the ten-mile peg on the Taupo-Napier State Highway; towards the south-west by the centre of the Taupo-Napier State Highway to the boundary of the Taupo Town District; towards the west and south generally by the Taupo Town District to the Waikato River; and towards the north-east generally by the right bank of the Waikato River. As the same is more particularly delineated on Plan No. 54/15, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Robert Thomas Alan Thomson,
Lachlan Bain Finlayson,
Gordon Eric McCullough,

Cancelling the Vesting of a Reserve in the Pohangina County Council

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of December, 1950

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve for gravel purposes, and is vested, in trust, in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pohangina: And whereas it is expedient that the vesting of the said land as hereinbefore referred to should be cancelled, and the Pohangina County Council has duly consented to such cancellation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection (1) of section 10 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby cancel the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pohangina of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for gravel purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1948.

Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of December, 1950

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the Ngatihawe hapu of the Tangahoe tribe as a marae, meeting-place, and place of historical interest.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, situate in Block III, Hawera Survey District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being the Maori Land Court subdivision known as Ngatihawe Subdivision 11. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.A. 8/149, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Maori Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
