Portion of Paraparaumu Beach Domain Set Apart as a Site for a Public Hall

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 42 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that that portion of the Paraparaumu Beach Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the 1st day of December, 1950, be set apart as a site for a public hall.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement a total of 1 acre and 0·18 perches, more or less, being Lots 29 and 30, on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office, at Wellington under No. 9790, being part Section 22, Wainui District.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 7 perches, more or less, being Lot 52 on a plan deposited as aforesaid under No. 10230, being part Section 22, Wainui District.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 35·24 perches, more or less, being Lot 4, on a plan deposited as aforesaid under No. 10737, being part Section 22, Wainui District.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 23·93 perches, more or less, being Lot 14 on a plan deposited as aforesaid under No. 11635, being part Section 22, Wainui District.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/953G, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of November, 1950.

Appointing a Member of the Foxton Harbour Board

WHEREAS it is provided by section 27 of the Harbours Act, 1950, that if any constituent district or combined district fails at any election to elect the required number of representatives the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have been elected; and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the said Act:

And whereas it is provided by the said Act that one member of the Foxton Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the Borough of Levin:

And whereas at the elections held on the 18th day of November, 1950, the electors of the Borough of Levin failed to elect a member to the said Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint as a representative of the electors of the Borough of Levin

Alexander Walter Parton

to be a member of the Foxton Harbour Board, to fill the vacancy caused by the before-mentioned failure to elect.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of November, 1950.

Lieutenant A. S. Taylor, late 5th Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. (S.P.), is transferred to the Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps. Dated 12th November, 1950.

Lieutenant J. Shaw, 13th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., resigns his commission. Dated 9th November, 1950.

Temp. Lieutenant H. P. T. Willis, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st October, 1950, and is posted to the 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st October, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Territorial Force—

Lieutenant D. S. George, from the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 19th September, 1946, and is posted to the 1st Armoured Regiment (Waikato), R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 1st October, 1950.

Lieutenant A. H. Carmichael, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 13th November, 1947, and is posted to the 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 12th November, 1950.

Lieutenant A. S. Taylor, from the Royal N.Z. Artillery, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 25th May, 1948, and is posted to the 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 12th November, 1950.

Lieutenant G. D. Shearman, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is posted to the Retired List. Dated 10th September, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Territorial Force—

Captain L. E. Vaughan, 2nd Squadron (Composite), R.N.Z. Sigs., to be Major. Dated 1st November, 1950.

Captain K. McKenzie, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs., to be Captain, with seniority from 13th June, 1948, and is posted to the 2nd Squadron (Composite), R.N.Z. Sigs. Dated 22nd October, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS

Territorial Force—

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)—

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 69, dated 9th November, 1950, relative to 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) R. H. Lockstone, seconded to the Auckland Grammar School Cadets, is hereby cancelled.

2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) L. Hood, D.S.M., ceases to be seconded to the Takapuna Grammar School Cadets and resigns his commission. Dated 17th July, 1950.

The North Auckland Regiment—

Major J. C. Henare, D.S.O., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The North Auckland Regiment, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 26th April, 1946. Dated 19th October, 1950.

Captain E. H. J. Fairley, 1st Battalion, to be Major. Dated 12th November, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant T. M. McKoy ceases to be seconded to the Whangarei High School Cadets and resigns his commission. Dated 7th November, 1950.

The Hawke's Bay Regiment—

Captain D. Chambers, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Hawke's Bay Regiment, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 13th October, 1946. Dated 18th September, 1950.

Lieutenant H. L. Robertson, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Hawke's Bay Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th April, 1947, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st October, 1950.

The Canterbury Regiment—

Lieutenant S. K. Carswell to be Captain and remains seconded to the Ashburton Technical High School Cadets. Dated 12th July, 1950.

George Hughes to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Temuka District High School Cadets. Dated 7th November, 1950.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment—

Scobie Jackson McKenzie to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Nelson College Cadets. Dated 1st August, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

Territorial Force—

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. G. Loten, M.B., Ch.B., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 30th June, 1949, and is appointed R.M.O., 13th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st October, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT

Territorial Force—

The Rev. L. A. North, Chaplain 4th Class (Baptist), resigns his Commission. Dated 27th October, 1950.

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE

Regular Force—

Charge Sister R. M. Simpson is granted a further extension of her short-service commission to 13th December, 1951.

Charge Sister P. M. Aitcheson is granted a further extension of her short-service commission to 6th January, 1952.

Territorial Force—

Mary Joan Witton to be Sister and is taken on strength of the 2nd General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 26th October, 1950.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS

Regimental List—

13th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A.—

Lieutenant A. A. Brausch is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant with seniority from 1st July, 1943. Dated 1st November, 1950.

The North Auckland Regiment—

Major M. C. Astley is posted to the Retired List. Dated 18th October, 1950.
