Lieutenant-Colonel A. H. Andrews, O.B.E., is appointed Deputy Quartermaster-General, Army Headquarters, Wellington, vice Lieutenant-Colonel J. Brooke-White, O.B.E. Dated 8th November, 1950.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66, dated 26th October, 1950, relative to the posting to the Retired List of Lieutenant A. S Leighton, for “Dated 16th October, 1950” substitute “Dated 14th October, 1950.”

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE

Regular Force—

Sister E. D. Kemp, from the Territorial Force, is granted a short-service commission for a period of one year as from the 1st October, 1950, in the rank of Sister, with seniority from 1st April, 1950, and is posted for duty to Burnham Camp Hospital. Dated 1st October, 1950.

Sister R. I. Rich, from the Territorial Force, is granted a short-service commission for a period of one year as from the 1st October, 1950, in the rank of Sister, with seniority from 1st April, 1950, and is posted for duty to Burnham Camp Hospital. Dated 1st October, 1950.

Gwendoline Hetty Eyles Stokes to be Sister and is taken on strength of the 2nd General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 31st October, 1950.

Mavis Ethel McRae to be Sister and is taken on strength of the 3rd General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 31st October, 1950.

June Geddes McStay to be Sister and is taken on the strength of the 2nd General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 3rd November, 1950.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court Appointed

GEORGE THOMAS KENYON, Esquire, of Sydney, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Humphrey Francis O’Leary, K.C.M.G., P.C., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales under section 47 of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

as the additional members thereby rendered necessary.

Member of New Zealand Geographic Board Appointed

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 14th November, 1950.

WHEREAS in pursuance of the provisions of section 3 (2) (b) of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act, 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General did on the 31st day of May, 1950, appoint the Honourable Sir Apirana Turupa Ngata, Kt., Litt.D., M.A., LL.B., to be a member of the New Zealand Geographic Board established in pursuance of the said Act :

And whereas the said Sir Apirana Turupa Ngata died on the 14th day of July, 1950 :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section 3 (4) of the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

John Te Hereherekiekie Grace

to be a member of the New Zealand Geographic Board established under the above Act for the balance of the term of three years for which the said Sir Apirana Turupa Ngata was previously appointed.
