RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS AND CLOSE PORTIONS OF ROADS
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties
Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute
a certain public work—namely, altering the course of the road—
and for the purpose of such public work the various lands described
in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and further,
that it is proposed to close the various portions of road described
in the Second Schedule hereto. Notice is further given that plans
of the lands so required to be taken for road and the portions of
road proposed to be closed are deposited in the public offices of the
Clerk to the said Council at Ngaruawahia and at the offices of Messrs.
Tomkins and Wake, Solicitors, Wesley Chambers, Victoria Street,
Hamilton, and are open for inspection by all persons during ordinary
office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said lands or by the closing of the said
roads who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the
said public work or to the taking of the said lands or to the closing
of the said roads must state their objections in writing, within forty
(40) days from the first publication of this notice, that is on or
before the 6th day of March, 1950, to the Raglan County Council
at Council Chambers, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia.

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Taihape Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows :-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Taihape
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose
of completing the works for which the Housing Loan, 1947, £11,000,
was authorized, the said Taihape Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of forty-three one-thousandths of a penny (·043d.)
in the pound upon rateable value of all rateable property of the
Borough of Taihape, and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan
is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Taihape
Borough Council held on the 24th day of January, 1950.
