(b) For the purposes of this Order, the term "worker" shall be limited
to a worker engaged under the provisions of Public Service Regulation 150.
(c) This Order, with the exception of clause 3, shall be deemed to have
come into force on the 18th day of March, 1949.
(d) Clause 3 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 24th day of
December, 1948.
(e) Except as otherwise provided in this Order and in any related
administrative provisions that may be approved by the Public Service
Commission, the rates of wages and conditions of employment of workers
under this Order shall be as prescribed from time to time in the New Zealand
Licensed Hotels' Employees Award (hereinafter referred to as the award).

HOURS OF WORK

  1. (a) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the
    award, the manager of any of the establishments listed in subclause (c)
    below may employ a worker, as set out therein, on seasonal duties for up
    to eight hours a day on any or all of the seven days of the week without
    payment of overtime: Provided that such worker shall, at the termination
    of his employment, be paid one-quarter of his full week's wages for each
    day of eight hours worked in excess of his normal five days a week.
    (b) Time worked in excess of eight hours a day shall be paid for at
    overtime rate.
    (c) Establishment-
    Workers-
    Lake House, Waikaremoana .. Camp storekeeper.
    Ball Hutt, Mount Cook .. All workers.
    Cascade Creek Camp .. Camp attendants.
    Milford Track .. .. All workers.
    (d) A worker employed in terms of subclause (a) above shall, on
    termination of employment, be provided with free transport on the following
    basis:
    If employed at-- Free transport to--
    .Lake House, Waikaremoana .. Napier or Rotorua.
    Ball Hut, Mount Cook .. Timaru.
    Cascade Creek Camp or Milford Dunedin or Invercargill, or any
    Track railway-station nearer to the
    place of employment.
    Provided that this subclause shall not apply to a worker who-
    (i) Is discharged on the grounds of incompetence within one week of
    commencing work, or misconduct or default within thirteen
    weeks of commencing work; or
    (ii) Of his own volition and through no fault of the employer, terminates
    his employment within thirteen weeks of commencing work.

WAGES

  1. (a) In addition to the schedule of wage-rates prescribed by the
    award, the following schedule of wage-rates shall apply:

(b) The worker in charge at Ball Hut shall be paid an allowance of 10s.
a week.
