A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto; and I do also hereby take the land described in the Third Schedule hereto for the purposes of subsection 6 of the said section 29.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Wendonside Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WENDONSIDE RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land District, containing by estimation 73,000 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point on the right bank of the Mataura River in line with the southern boundary of Nokomai Survey District; thence easterly across the Mataura River and along the southern boundary of Nokomai Survey District to East Dome; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Nokomai Survey District to the south-western corner of Block I, Garvie Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Block I, Garvie Survey District, to and across the Dome Burn to the left bank thereof; thence generally in a southerly direction along the left bank of the Dome Burn to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3, Block XII, Wakaia Survey District; thence easterly across a Road Reserve and along the southern boundaries of the said Section 3, and Section 35, Block VIII, Wakaia Survey District,
to a public road forming the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 35; thence north-easterly along the western side of the said public road to a point in line with the northern side of a public road forming the southern boundary of Section 33, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence easterly to and along the northern side of the said public road to the south-western corner of Section 24, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence southerly across a public road and along the western boundaries of Sections 20, 19, 18, 17, and 16, Block VIII, aforesaid to, a public road forming the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 16; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of the said public road to the southern boundary of Section 61, Block I, Wakaia Survey District; thence due east along a right line across a River Bank Reserve and the Whakaea River to the left bank thereof; thence generally in a southerly direction along the left bank of the Whakaea River to a point in line with the right bank of the Mataura River at its confluence with the Whakaea River; thence generally in a northerly direction to and along the right bank of the Mataura River to and along the right bank of the flood channel forming the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Section 22, Block VIII, Wendonside Survey District, to and across the Mataura River, aforesaid, to the right bank thereof; thence generally in a northerly direction by the aforementioned right bank of the Mataura River, to the point of commencement.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Marlborough Coast Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4924)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section 31 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district :
And whereas the district known as the Marlborough Coast Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act :
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section 31 of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by excluding an area therefrom :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid ; and
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MARLBOROUGH COAST RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land in the Marlborough Land District containing approximately 56,850 acres and bounded as follows: Commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Clarence River in Block XI, Puhi Puhi Survey District; thence proceeding in a westerly, northerly, and north-easterly direction by the middle of the Clarence River to a point due west of the trig. station on Mole Hill in Block XVIII, Whernside Survey District; thence due east to the said trig. station; thence in a northerly direction by the watershed known as the Ladies Range and Front Range to Trig. P on Ragged Robin, in Block VIII, Whernside Survey District; thence in a westerly and north-westerly direction by the south-western boundary of Small Grazing Run 187 to the north-western corner of part Section 3, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence in a westerly direction by a right line to the south corner of part Section 14, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence in a north-easterly, north-westerly, and again north-easterly direction by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of part Section 14, aforesaid, and the south-eastern boundary of part Section 8, Block VIII, aforesaid, to the eastern corner of the said part Section 8; thence easterly by a right line to the Trig. Station W.H., Whernside, in Block VIII, aforesaid; thence in a north-easterly direction by a right line to the north-west corner of Section 4, Block IX, Whernside Survey District; thence in a south-easterly, easterly, and southerly direction by the north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Small Grazing Run 187; thence in an easterly and north-easterly direction by the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, aforesaid, the western boundaries of Small Grazing Run 183A, and the southern and western boundaries of Section 281, Block XVI, Cape Campbell Survey District, to the Ure River; thence in an easterly direction by the Ure River to a point due south of the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block X, Cape Campbell Survey District; thence due north to that corner; thence in an easterly direction by the northern boundary of the said Section 1 to Peg V on that boundary; thence in an easterly direction by a right line to the trig. station on Single Hill and its prolongation to the sea; thence in a south-westerly direction by the sea to the point of commencement.
