Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Lieutenant Commander George Onslow Graham, D.S.C. and Bar, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.S. "Ocean", additional, for passage, to date 4th September, 1950 (accounts to be carried in H.M.N.Z.S. "Taupo").

Lieutenant Alan Maurice Griffiths, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.S. "Ocean", additional, for passage, to date 3rd September, 1950 (accounts to be carried in H.M.N.Z.S. "Taupo").

Lieutenant David William Malcolm Stavert, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy and appointed H.M.S. "Ocean", additional, for passage, to date 3rd September, 1950 (accounts to be carried in H.M.N.Z.S. "Taupo").

Acting Sub-Lieutenant Ian Scott Monro, confirmed in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant with original seniority of 1st May, 1948, and reappointed, to date 17th June, 1950.

Lieutenant Commander (S) Leonard Stanley Stanners, appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel" as Supply Officer in continuation, to date 16th June, 1950 (granted the acting rank of Commander (S) whilst holding this appointment).

Keith Charles Heslin Cadman, Chief Petty Officer Telegraphist, N.Z. 1527, promoted to the rank of Acting Commissioned Communications Officer, to date 28th July, 1950, and appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Maori", additional, to date 28th July, 1950.

Mr. George Leslie Tunnicliffe, Commissioned Catering Officer, appointed H.M.N.Z.S. "Philomel", additional, for retiring leave, to date 5th July, 1950, and placed on the Retired List (medically unfit), to date 5th October, 1950.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL RESERVE

Mr. Robert William Campbell Fraser, entered in the rank of Probationary Lieutenant with seniority of 19th June, 1950.

Mr. Patrick Herbert Pallin, entered in the rank of Probationary Sub-Lieutenant with seniority of 19th June, 1950.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE

Sub-Lieutenant John Rannie Ward, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, to date 14th September, 1949.

Dr. William Kennedy Bryson, B.Sc., M.B., Ch.B., entered in the rank of Probationary Surgeon Lieutenant with seniority of 26th May, 1950, and appointed to the Wellington Division as Medical Officer, to date 20th July, 1950.

Surgeon Lieutenant Robert Middleton DeLambert, M.B., Ch.B., resignation accepted and commission terminated, to date 20th September, 1950.

Major B. G. MacAvoy, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major, with seniority from 4th September, 1947, and is posted to the 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 22nd September, 1950.

The undermentioned Lieutenants, 15th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Captains:

Lieutenant L. C. Lee, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st June, 1947. Dated 1st September, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant E. T. Simpson, 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is posted to the Retired List. Dated 10th February, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Regular Force—

2nd Lieutenant I. P. Marshall to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st September, 1950.

Territorial Force—

Captain W. J. Rainbow, from the Retired List, to be Captain, with seniority from 10th March, 1945, and is posted to the 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 30th July, 1950.

Victor Alexander George Aldridge to be Honorary Lieutenant and is appointed Bandmaster, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 1st April, 1950.

Captain J. M. Gould, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs, to be Captain, with seniority from 22nd February, 1948, and is posted to the 1st Squadron (Composite) R.N.Z. Sigs. Dated 11th September, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS

Regular Force—

N.Z. Regiment—

Captain L. R. Musgrave to be temp. Major whilst holding the appointment of Chief Instructor, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, Northern Military District Training Camp, Papakura. Dated 17th August, 1950.

Territorial Force—

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)—

Temp. Captain G. G. Turbott, M.C., ceases to be seconded to the Takapuna Grammar School Cadets and is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Major. Dated 19th September, 1950.

Temp. Lieutenant S. W. Perry, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago and Southland Regiment. Dated 27th September, 1950.

The Hauraki Regiment—

2nd Lieutenant I. Robertson, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 21st August, 1949.

The North Auckland Regiment—

Lieutenant R. T. Wood, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st October, 1950.

Lieutenant W. Alison, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 14th August, 1948. Dated 14th September, 1950.

The Hawke's Bay Regiment—

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) W. H. Tetley, seconded to the Napier Boys' High School Cadets, lapses. Dated 26th September, 1950.

The Canterbury Regiment—

Major H. B. Hay, M.C., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 1st April, 1950. Dated 31st August, 1950.

The Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast Regiment—

Captain (temp. Major) H. A. H. Insull, E.D., ceases to be seconded to the Marlborough College Cadets and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 1st April, 1945. Dated 31st July, 1950.

Lieutenant E. Goodman, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st September, 1950.

Temp. W.O. I. George Alexander Cloy to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority from 1st April, 1949. Dated 19th September, 1950.

Territorial Force—

Major S. B. Morris, M.B., Ch.B., 1st General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C., resigns his commission. Dated 29th July, 1950.

Lieutenant (temp. Major) C. M. Mules, M.B., Ch.B., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C., with the rank of Major, with seniority from 16th February, 1943. Dated 21st September, 1950.

Edmund Justin Peterson, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant (on prob.) and is posted to the 2nd Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 8th August, 1950.
