Orders in Council and Authorizations




  1. The ordinary business hours of the Board upon the wharf shall be from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays inclusive. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are excepted.

  2. The cost over and above the ordinary cost of day work of all labour, including the wharfinger, during any hours not being ordinary business hours of the Board as above defined, shall be paid by the master or owner of the vessel in addition to the usual charge.

  3. The following days shall be observed as holidays by the Board and its officers—namely, New Year’s Day, 2nd January, Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, King’s Birthday, Labour Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

  4. Consignees shall be liable for all wharfage and other charges on all inward cargo, shippers shall be liable for all wharfage and other charges on all outward cargo. All charges shall be paid to the Board at the time of receiving and shipping.

  5. The Board shall appoint the wharfinger and all other persons necessary for the working of the wharf.

  6. If any person fails or refuses or neglects to do anything required by these regulations to be done, observed, or performed, or in any manner obstructs, impedes, or interferes with the doing of any thing enjoined, required, or authorized to be done, or wilfully does anything prohibited by these regulations, every such person in each and every case so offending shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds.

Revoking a Previous Order in Council and Reapportioning Representation on the Waitaki Electric-power Board

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke, as from the date of the next general election of the representatives of the constituent districts of the Waitaki Electric-power District, the Order in Council dated the 20th day of August, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 23rd day of the same month, apportioning representation on the Waitaki Electric-power Board, and doth hereby determine, in lieu thereof, that on and after the said date the number of representatives of each constituent district on the said Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district; and doth further determine that the constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto are hereby constituted a combined district for the purposes of the said Act, and that the local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter "(P)" shall be the principal local authority of such combined district; and doth further determine that the first election of the representatives of the said combined district shall be held on the date of the said general election.

Revoking Orders in Council Vesting the Management of the Wharf at Waitapu in the Waitapu Harbour Board

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of October, 1950

His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
WHEREAS by Orders in Council dated the 25th day of October, 1939, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd day of the following month, at page 3006, and the 13th day of April, 1949, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st day of the same month, at page 936, the management of the wharf at Waitapu was vested in the Waitapu Harbour Board (hereinafter called the Board) for a term of fourteen years:

And whereas it is desirable to revoke the hereinbefore-recited Orders in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Orders in Council of the 25th day of October, 1939, and the 13th day of April, 1949, as from the date hereof.

Variation of Order in Council Prohibiting Alienation of Certain Maori Lands or Lands Owned by Maoris

Pursuant to section 167 of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the 4th day of April, 1932, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 7th day of April, 1932, at page 735, and affecting Hauturu East B 2 Section 2A 1A and other blocks by excluding therefrom the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
