Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949

IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be within a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Mackenzie County—

All that area at Lake Tekapo, consisting of that portion of the Timaru-Cromwell via Lindis State Highway No. 60, commencing at a point 10 chains measured along the said State highway in an easterly direction from the western end of the bridge over the Tekapo River, and terminating at a point 46 chains measured along the said State highway in a westerly direction from the western end of the said bridge, a distance of 56 chains.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations.—Notice Fixing Prices of Certain Grades

PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1946, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 9th day of August, 1950, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 25th day of September, 1950, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block XV, Linkwater Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and twelve (112) acres one (1) rood, more or less, being Section 13, Block XV, Linkwater Survey District, and Lots 1 and 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Blenheim under number 693, being part of Sections 25, 26, and 27, Waitohi Valley Registration District, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 39, folio 66, Marlborough Registry.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby revokes, so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, a certain notice dated the 22nd day of July, 1938, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 57 of the 28th day of the same month, at page 1747, as amended by the erratum notice appearing in New Zealand Gazette No. 58, on the 4th day of August, 1938, page 1767, whereby the provisions of section 522 of the Maori Land Act, 1931 (now Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936), were applied to, inter alia, the said land, and such land is hereby excluded from the Torere Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land in the Waiariki Maori Land Court District containing 199 acres, more or less, called or known as Torere Section 10 (formerly known as Torere 1A 30F, 1A 30M, 1A 30R (part), 1A 30X 2A, 1A 30X 2B, 1B No. 6A, 1B No. 7) and situated in Blocks II and III, Waiaua Survey District.
