Appointing Wardens Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

Pursuant to section 11 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I do hereby appoint the persons named in the first column of the Schedule hereunder to be Wardens for the Tribal Districts shown in the second column of the said Schedule.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block III, Halswell Survey District, for Road

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Cashmere Hills and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949

In terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rangiora County—

All that area at Woodend consisting of—

(1) The Picton-Christchurch State Highway No. 51, commencing at a point 3 chains measured along the said State highway in a southerly direction from its junction with the Woodend Pound Main Highway No. 610, and terminating at a point 12 chains measured along the said State highway in a north-easterly direction from its junction with the Rangiora-Woodend Main Highway No. 201, a distance of approximately 60 chains.

(2) The Rangiora-Woodend Main Highway No. 201, commencing at its junction with the Picton-Christchurch State Highway No. 51, and terminating at a point 4 chains measured along the said main highway in a westerly direction from the said junction.

(3) The Woodend Pound Main Highway No. 610, commencing at its junction with the Picton-Christchurch State Highway No. 51, and terminating at a point 2 chains measured along the said main highway in a north-westerly direction from the said junction.
