HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, relinquishments of temporary rank, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Territorial Force—

Lieutenant L. C. Browne, from the Retired List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 23rd January, 1948, and is posted to the 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

2nd Lieutenant C. S. Atkinson, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., ceases to be seconded to the Pukekohe High School Cadets. Dated 18th April, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant C. S. Atkinson, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st May, 1950.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 53, dated 17th August, 1950, relative to the appointment of David William Robinson, late Pilot Officer, R.N.Z.A.F., for “Dated 3rd December, 1949” substitute “Dated 7th October, 1949.”

THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Territorial Force—

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) L. Lucena, E.D., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 11th December, 1941, and remains seconded to the Auckland Grammar School Cadets. Dated 23rd May, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS

Regular Force—

N.Z. Regiment—

Captain (temp. Major) F. Rennie relinquishes the appointment of Chief Instructor, N.Z. Regiment, Linton Camp, and the temporary rank of Major, and is appointed Chief Instructor, Regular Force Depot, The Army School, Trentham. Dated 18th August, 1950.

Territorial Force—

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)—

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) P. W. Day, seconded to the Kings College Cadets, is confirmed.

The seniority of 2nd Lieutenant P. W. Day, seconded to the Kings College Cadets, is antedated to 7th April, 1948.

The Hauraki Regiment—

The seniority of Captain (temp. Major) L. I. Day, E.D., seconded to the Hamilton Technical College Cadets, is antedated to 16th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant F. D. Dyer, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 7th August, 1950.

Lieutenant F. D. Dyer, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Divisional Signals Regiment, R.N.Z. Sigs., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 7th August, 1950. Dated 30th August, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

Territorial Force—

Major W. E. Henley, M.B.E., M.B., Ch.B., M.R.A.C.P., 1st General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C., to be Lieutenant-Colonel and is appointed O.C. Medical Division, 1st General Hospital, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 10th July, 1950.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) (Quartermaster) T. H. McCombs, 3rd Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C., is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Captain. Dated 3rd May, 1950.

Arthur Milton Oliver Veale, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant (on prob.) and is posted to the 2nd Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 25th July, 1950.

Member of Council of New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works Appointed

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Clerks of Works Act, 1944, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint Mr. Andrew Duncan, a member of the New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works, to be a member of the Council of the said Institute.

Appointment of Honorary Officers

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint the persons named in the following Schedule to be Honorary Officers for the acclimatization districts shown in such Schedule for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, such persons to hold office until the 31st March, 1953.
