Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Arundel Domain

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1950
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
William Jackson,
Ian MacFarlane Ritchie,
Ivan James Lewis,
Gordon Henry Burrows,
Alan Fletcher,
William Samuel Jenkins, and
Thomas Thompson Ritchie
to be the Arundel Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the 11th day of September, 1950, at 8 o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Arundel Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Members Appointed to Taurikura Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1950
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the 5th day of March, 1947, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of that month, the control of the land described in the Schedule to that document, being a reserve for a site for a public hall, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Taurikura Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928:
And whereas it is desirable that Joseph Clifford Capey, and Norman Valentine Baker, should be appointed members of the said Board in place of Charles Norman, and David John Logan, resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby appoint the said
Joseph Clifford Capey, and
Norman Valentine Baker,
to be members of the Taurikura Public Hall Board, constituted by the Order in Council dated the 5th day of March, 1947, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Charles Norman, and David John Logan, resigned.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the 17th day of August, 1949, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th day of that month, the control of the land described in the Schedule to that document, being a reserve for a site for a public hall, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Kumara Junction Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928:
And whereas it is desirable that John Moore should be appointed a member of the said Board in place of Harold Francis Hayes, resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby appoint the said
John Moore
to be a member of the Kumara Junction Public Hall Board constituted by the Order in Council dated the 17th day of August, 1949, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Harold Francis Hayes, resigned.

Dissolving Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1950
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS a request was made pursuant to section 8 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1946, that the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board be dissolved, and that the powers and functions thereof be transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board:
And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, such request was referred to the Local Government Commission, and the Commission approved the proposal as a final scheme, bearing date the 14th day of June, 1950:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare that as on and from the 18th day of November, 1950, the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board shall be dissolved, and that the powers and functions thereof shall be transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board; and with the like advice and consent doth hereby further order and declare that the provisions of sections 10 and 13 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1946, shall, with such modifications as may be necessary, apply upon the dissolution of the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board.

Appointment of Deputy Member of Waterfront Industry Authority

PURSUANT to the Waterfront Industry Emergency Regulations 1946, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Thomas Gilmore Wells, of Wellington
(nominated by the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Industrial Union of Workers) to be a deputy to act for Archibald Charles Dellaway, a member of the Waterfront Industry Authority during the absence of the said Archibald Charles Dellaway from the duties of his office for the purposes of a visit to Australia.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 29th day of August, 1950.

Increasing Number of Days on Which Charges May be Made for Admission to the Taihape Oval Domain

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 23 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby increase the number of days which may be prescribed by the Taihape Oval Domain Board as days upon which charges may be made, pursuant to section 21 of the said Act, for admission to the domain described in the Schedule hereto, or to any part thereof set apart for a particular purpose, from twenty days to thirty days during the year ending the 31st day of March, 1951.

ALL that area containing 9 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or less, being Block X, Township of Taihape, and formerly comprising portion of Taihape Domain.
