Declaring Land to be Subject to Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936
P URSUANT to section 4 of the Maori Land Amendment Act,
21936, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares the lands
described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said
Act, and to be included in the Kaipara Development Scheme.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land in the Tokerau Maori Land Court District
containing 12 acres 2 roods, more or less, called or known as
Kaitara 3c l and Kaitara 3D 1 and situate in Blocks V and VI,
Otamatea Survey District. (P.R. Volume 159, folio 126, Auckland
Registry.)

P URSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of
Petone, taken on the twenty-sixth (26th) day of July, 1950, on the
proposal of the Borough Council to borrow the sum of twelve
thousand pounds (£12,000) for the purpose of constructing a new
municipal yard in Udy Street:-

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 116
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

on the proposal of the Borough Council to borrow the sum of eight
thousand five hundred pounds (£8,500) for the purpose of erecting
a ladies' rest room, and caretaker's flat in Bay Street:-

Coromandel was taken on the 28th day of July, 1950, on the pro-
posai to authorize the said County Council to make and levy a
bridge rate of one halfpenny in the £, for the purpose of providing
funds for the reconstruction of bridges under the jurisdiction of
the Council:-

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 15th August, 1950.
N OTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open
for sale or lease under the Land Act, 1948, and applications
will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin,
up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 18th September, 1950.
Applicants may be required by the Commissioner of Crown
Lands, Dunedin, acting on behalf of the Land Settlement Board, to
appear personally in support of their applications at a time and
place to be advised.
The ballot will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 20th September, 1950,
and persons who so wish may attend.
The successful applicants are required to pay, immediately on
notification of result of ballot, a deposit comprising the first half-
year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee, or deposit on deferred
payments, or the purchase-price plus title fee.

These sections are situated 24 miles from Makarora Post Office,
3 miles from the school, and 65 miles from Cromwell. Access is from
the Hawea-Haast Pass Road which is a metalled all weather road.
The sections are levelled land, gently sloping into the sun and are
all good building-sites. They command a fine view of Lake Wanaka
and the district is unexcelled for fishing and hunting.
Priority will be given to applications from--
(1) Ex-servicemen of World War II or the wives or widows of
such ex-servicemen;
(2) Persons who produce conclusive evidence of their intention
to build immediately a permanent residence.

undersigned.
