High Commissioner for New Zealand in Canada Appointed

Ministry of External Affairs,
Wellington, 8th August, 1950.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint

Thomas Charles Atkinson Hislop, a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George,

to be High Commissioner for New Zealand in Canada under and for the purposes of the External Affairs Act, 1943, to hold the said office as on and from the 8th day of August, 1950, to the 7th day of August, 1953.

Appointment of Honorary Fishery Officer

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint

Norman Gray, of Kaikoura,

to be an Honorary Fishery Officer for the purposes of Part I of the Fisheries Act, 1908, to hold office until the 31st day of March, 1953.

Appointment of Honorary Officers

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint the persons named in the following Schedule to be Honorary Officers for the acclimatization districts shown in such Schedule for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, such persons to hold office until the 31st March, 1953.

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for river works, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch as from the date hereinafter mentioned ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 14th day of August, 1950:

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street off Vogel Street, in the City of Palmerston North, Subject to a Condition as to the Building-line

At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of August, 1950

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 31 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1948, and section 125 of the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the Palmerston North City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 feet, but not less than 50 feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on Lots 5 to 11 inclusive, and Lots 14 to 20 inclusive, of a subdivision of the land fronting the said street (as shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 131958, referred to in the Schedule hereto), within a distance of 48 feet from the centre-line of the said street, or on Lots 2 and 3 of the said subdivision within a distance of 33 feet from the centre-line of the said street.


SCHEDULE

THAT proposed street in the Wellington Land District, City of Palmerston North, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 8·3 perches, more or less, being Lot 2, D.P. 4781, being part Section 420, Town of Palmerston North.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 131958, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

The Ngaruawahia Milk Delivery Notice 1942, Amendment No. 2

PURSUANT to the Milk Delivery Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Marketing doth hereby give notice as follows :—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Ngaruawahia Milk Delivery Notice, 1942, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Ngaruawahia Milk Delivery Notice 1942† (hereinafter referred to as the principal scheme).

  2. Clause (2) of the principal scheme is hereby amended by revoking the words “ R. F. Smith, Ngaruawahia ”, and substituting therefor the words “ C. A. Connor, Kainui ”.

Amendments to Schemes of Control for Secondary Schools

Education Department,
Wellington, 4th August, 1950.

PURSUANT to the Education Act, 1914, I, Ronald Macmillan Algie, Minister of Education, do hereby approve amendments to those schemes of control for secondary schools that are specified in the Schedule hereto, in each case with respect to the clause indicated in that Schedule and in accordance with the following formula which is applicable in each case that is to say :—

(a) By omitting the words and brackets “ (signature of voter) ” from the voting-paper set out in subclause (9) thereof.

(b) By omitting from the directions on the voting-paper set out in subclause (9) thereof, the words “ signed by the voter and ”, and inserting after the words “ bearing on ” the words “ the inside of the flap, the signature of the voter, and on ”.

(c) By omitting paragraph (a) of subclause (11) thereof and substituting the following paragraph.

“ (a) If the envelope in which it is forwarded is not duly signed by the voter ; or ”.
