MISCELLANEOUS GENERAL DIVISION SALARY SCALES—continued

SCALE FOR FEMALE TYPISTS, SHORTHAND-TYPISTS, AND MACHINISTS—continued

(b) Shorthand-typists who pass the Special Examination will be paid an allowance at the rate of £10 per annum, provided their scale salary does not exceed £355 per annum, and provided they are employed on shorthand-typing duties of a standard consistent with their examination qualifications—this is to be in addition to the £15 allowance referred to in (a) above.

(c) The allowances payable for the Advanced and Special Examinations will be subject to periodical review, and in the event of the work not being up to the standard required the allowances will be discontinued. They will also cease when an officer’s salary exceeds £355 per annum.

(d) Shorthand-typists who pass the Junior Shorthand and Typewriting Examination and are not in receipt of a salary of £355 per annum will receive an increment to the next step of the scale on the first of the month following the examination—i.e., 1st July or 1st December, and a further step at the anniversary date. This does not apply to a shorthand-typist who commences with the School Certificate or University Entrance Examination.

(e) Shorthand-typists who pass the Senior Shorthand and Typewriting Examination and are not in receipt of a salary of £380 per annum will receive an increment to the next step of the scale on the first of the month following the examination—i.e., 1st July or 1st December, and a further step at the anniversary date. This does not apply to a shorthand-typists who commences with the University Entrance Examination.

NOTES

On passing the Typewriting Examination a salary increment to the next step will be paid from the first of the month following the completion of the examination, and a further step at the anniversary date. Both these increases are payable only if the maximum of the grade has not been reached.

Ledger Machinists—

Grade III—Maximum for those without Ledger Machinists’ Examination .. £330
