Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Kowai Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4892)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of July, 1950

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section 31 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:

And whereas the district known as the Kowai Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:

And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section 31 of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by excluding an area therefrom:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid; and

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE KOWAI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Kowai of the Canterbury Land District containing 64,800 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Main Stream of the River Waipara opposite the stream forming the eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 34256 and 34257, Block II, Grey Survey District; thence by a right line to and along the said stream to the south-eastern corner of Rural Section 34257; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that Rural Section; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Rural Section 34256, aforesaid, and Rural Section 33149, to the north-western corner of Rural Section 37021; thence southerly generally along the western boundary of that Rural Section to its junction with the boundary of the County of Kowai; thence south-easterly generally following the said County boundary along the summit of the range to Mount Grey and continuing southward to a point on the road at the northernmost corner of Rural Section 34744, in Block X, Grey Survey District; thence by a right line to a point on the right bank of the south branch of the River Kowai due east of the said point on the road at the county boundary at the northernmost corner of Rural Section 34744; thence south-easterly generally along the said right bank of the south branch of the River Kowai and the right bank of the River Kowai to the low-water mark of the sea; thence north-easterly along the said low-water mark of the sea to the middle of the main stream of the River Waipara; thence westerly generally along the said middle of the main stream of that river to the point of commencement.

Constituting the Ngakuru Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag 4894)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than 1,000 acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:

And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:

And whereas the said petition is signed by a majority of the persons in the said area of land qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for the said proposed district, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayers of the petitioners accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Ngakuru Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE NGAKURU RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Rotorua and Taupo Counties containing approximately 112,000 acres, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VII, Horohoro Survey District, being the westernmost corner of part of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 6A 2 No. 4B 1A 2 Block, and running south-easterly generally along the left bank of the Pokaitu Stream to a point due west of the intersection of the eastern boundary of part of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 6A 2 No. 4B 1A 2 Block aforesaid with the northern side of the Atiamuri Road; thence along a right line to the aforesaid intersection; thence southerly generally along the north-western side of the said Atiamuri Road to its intersection with the northern side of a public road as shown on the Maori Land Plan 15002, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland; thence again south-easterly along a right line passing through Trig. Station No. 37, Haparangi, in Block XII, Horohoro Survey District, to the western side of Brices Road and along another right line to Trig. Station No. 30, Maungaongaonga, in Block II, Paeroa Survey District; thence southerly generally along the western boundary of part of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 3A 1A Block, to and along the western boundary of Section 5, Suburbs of Waiotapu, to and along the western boundary of part of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 3A 1B Block to a public road; thence along a right line across the said public road, to and along the western side of another public road, and along the western boundary of another part of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 3A 1B Block aforesaid, and along the western boundaries of Rotomahana Parekarangi Nos. 3A 3B 1, 3A 3B 2, 3A 3B 3C 2, 3A 3B 3C 1, 3A 3B 3B, 3A 3B 4B 2B, 3A 3B 4B 1, 3A 3B 5A, 3A 3A 3B 2B 2A, 3A 3A 3B 2B 1, 3A 3A 3B 2A, 3A 3A 3B 2B 2B, parts 3A 3A 3B 1, 3A 3A 3A, 3A 3A 1, 3A 2B Blocks, and the western and south-western boundaries of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 3A 2A Block, to and along the western boundaries of Paeroa South Nos. C 2B and C 2A Blocks, and along the western boundaries of part of Section 2, Block XIII, Paeroa Survey District, and Section 2, Block I, Takapau Survey District, crossing two intervening public roads, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced, to and across the Taupo–Rotorua Main Highway to the right bank of the Waikato River; thence north-westerly generally along the said right bank, to and along the right bank of the Whangapoa Stream to the northern boundary of part of Lot 3, as shown on a plan numbered 16299, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of the Whakamaru Maungaiti Block; thence along the said northern boundary for a distance of 6100 links, to and along a right line to a point due east of, and 2100 links distant from, the southernmost corner of part of Lot 4, as shown on a plan numbered 12322 deposited as aforesaid, being part of the Whakamaru Maungaiti Block; thence along another right line to the southernmost corner of part of Lot 4 aforesaid, and thence generally northerly along the south-western boundary of the said part of Lot 4 to the angle; thence along another right line to Peg XXIV at the junction of the Old Putaruru–Rotorua Road and the Putaruru–Rotorua Road as shown on a plan numbered 31518, lodged as aforesaid; thence north-easterly generally along another right line to a point bearing 29° 17′ 30″ distant 2828·4 links from the northernmost corner of part of Lot 2, as shown on a plan numbered 25102 deposited as aforesaid, being part of the aforesaid Whakamaru Maungaiti Block; thence along a series of right lines 2000 links distant from, and parallel to, the eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2 as shown on a plan numbered 25102 aforesaid, being part of the Whakamaru Maungaiti Block, the northern sides of the Rotorua–Atiamuri Main Highway, the right banks of the Tahuna-a-tara and Rahopakapaka Streams, and the north-western boundary of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 1C 4 Block, to the south-western boundary of Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 1A Block; thence along the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of the said Rotomahana Parekarangi No. 1A Block, to and along the generally south-eastern boundaries of Patetere South No. 1B 3 and parts of Nos. 1B 2 and 1A Blocks, and Kaitao Rotohokahoka Nos. 3A 5 and 3C 5 Blocks to the point of commencement.

Constituting the Eyre Creek Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4891)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of July, 1950

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Eyre Creek Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
