NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 14th day of June, 1950, presented to the said Court by JOHN ARNOLD EVANS, of 1 Sydney Street, Petone, Builder. And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on the 5th day of July, 1950, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE OF VOLUNTARY WINDING-UP RESOLUTION

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the shareholders of the METALFORMERS AND PLATERS, LTD., on 15th June, 1950:—

Resolved:—

“1. That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily.

“2. That NORBERT G. FOLEY, Practising Accountant, be appointed liquidator.”

Pursuant to section 300 (7) of the Companies Act, 1933, a meeting of creditors of the above-mentioned company will be held in the Council Chamber of Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Dominion Building, Wellington, at 2.15 p.m., on Monday, 26th June, 1950.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“Housing Loan No. 5, 1949, of £1,900

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,900, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of a house and land comprising 1 rood 21·6 perches, being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 1495, Section 125, Hutt District, situate at the corner of Main Road and Ward Street, Upper Hutt, to provide accommodation for Council employees, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six hundred and twenty-six ten-thousandths of a penny (0·0626d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“Housing Loan No. 6, 1949, of £1,000

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the work for which Housing Loan No. 4 (1948), was raised, namely, the erection of four houses to provide accommodation for employees of the Council, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three hundred and twenty-nine ten-thousandths of a penny (0·0329d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“Maidstone Park Extension Loan, 1949, of £1,800

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,800, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of land for the extension of Maidstone Park, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five hundred and twenty-nine ten-thousandths of a penny (0·0529d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolutions were passed at the ordinary meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council, held in the Council Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Wednesday, 17th May, 1950.

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,840, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of one thirty-three seater V8 passenger omnibus, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five hundred and twenty-three thousandths of a penny (0·523d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,336, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of one twenty-nine seater V8 passenger omnibus, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six hundred and forty-seven thousandths of a penny (0·647d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“Housing Loan No. 4, 1948, of £8,000

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the erection of four houses to provide accommodation for Council employees, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five hundred and twenty-three thousandths of a penny (0·523d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Upper Hutt comprising the whole of the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolutions were passed at a special meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council, held in the Council Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Wednesday, 25th May, 1949.
