At the Government House at Wellington, this 7th day of June, 1950

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary the Order in Council made on the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight and published in the Gazette on the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at page 107, and affecting Ahipoutu and other blocks, by substituting for the descriptions of the lands set out in the first column of the Schedule hereto, the respective descriptions set out opposite thereto in the second column of the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to section four hundred and forty-two of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 546, and affecting Hauhungaroa 1A 1 and other blocks, by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Member of the Nurses and Midwives Board Appointed

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 4 of the Nurses and Midwives Act, 1945, I, Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Marie Emerentia Little, R.N., R.Psy.N.,

as a member of the Nurses and Midwives Board under the aforesaid Act, vice Rosellen Mary Hunter, R.N., R.Psy.N., P.G., resigned.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, this 6th day of June, 1950.

Temp. Major J. R. Stone, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major, with seniority from 26th December, 1942. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Captain R. A. Wilson, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Captain, with seniority from 6th May, 1945. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Lieutenant D. A. Thorburn, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Captain. Dated 1st March, 1950.

Temp. Lieutenant G. Solomon, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st March, 1945. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant L. A. Boswell, from the Wellington West Coast and Taranaki Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 21st May, 1947, and is posted to the 4th Medium Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 15th May, 1950.

Temp. Lieutenant A. E. Rowe, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 30th July, 1947. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant G. J. Mulvey, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 3rd November, 1947, and is posted to the 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant R. W. Thompson, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 16th September, 1945. Dated 30th April, 1950.

Temp. Lieutenant K. T. Tulloch, late 26th Composite Anti-aircraft Battery (disbanded), resigns his commission. Dated 10th May, 1950.

Don Blundell Sisley (late Flight Lieutenant, R.N.Z.A.F.) to be Lieutenant and is posted to the 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 22nd February, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant C. J. Hayden, 13th Composite Anti-aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant. Dated 8th March, 1950.

2nd Lieutenant H. J. Blick, 1st Heavy Mortar Battery, R.N.Z.A., to be Lieutenant. Dated 9th May, 1950.

Captain H. N. Davis, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., to be Major. Dated 1st April, 1950.

Lieutenant A. D. McGill, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., to be Captain. Dated 1st April, 1950.

Lieutenant H. H. Rattray, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 22nd June, 1948, and is posted to the 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 19th May, 1950.

THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS

Regular Force—

N.Z. Regiment—

Lieutenant and Quartermaster W. J. Kennedy, M.M., to be temp. Captain and Quartermaster whilst holding the appointment of Adjutant, Northern Military District Training Camp, Papakura. Dated 28th April, 1950.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on prob.) R. F. Yates is confirmed.

Territorial Force—

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)—

John Riddell Kelly to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Seddon Memorial Technical College Cadets. Dated 20th September, 1949.

The Hauraki Regiment—

Temp. Lieutenant-Colonel T. V. Fitzpatrick, E.D., 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 20th April, 1950.

Captain B. G. S. Jackson, from the Retired List, to be Captain, with seniority from 13th April, 1948, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Lieutenant R. J. Booth, M.M., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 30th July, 1948, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant C. V. Gallagher ceases to be seconded to the Opotiki District High School Cadets and is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 9th May, 1950,
