Appointment of Honorary Fishery Officer
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946,
I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint
Watson Pita, of Whangaruru South,
to be an Honorary Fishery Officer for the purposes of Part I of
the Fisheries Act, 1908, to hold office until the 31st day of March,
1953.

Special Order Made by the Hutt County Council Altering Riding
Boundaries and Adjusting Representation
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 29th May, 1950.
THE following Special Order made by the Hutt County Council
is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties
Act, 1920, in so far as publication is required by that Act. Pursuant
to section 100 of the aforsaid Act, as amended by section 3 of the
Counties Amendment Act, 1921-22, I hereby fix the Ist day of
October, 1950, as the date from which the re-division of the county
into ten ridings, as set out in the said Special Order, shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties
Act, 1920, the Hutt County Council hereby resolves by way of
Special Order as follows :—
“1. The present division of the County of Hutt into nine ridings
is revoked and in lieu thereof the county shall be divided into ten
ridings by re-dividing the ridings of Horokiw, Taupo, and Kapiti
into four ridings to be known as Horokiw, Taupo, Kapiti, and
Paekakariki, which said ridings of Horokiw, Taupo, Kapiti, and
Paekakariki are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
“2. The said Hutt County Council shall consist of ten members.
The electors in each of the ridings of the county—namely, Eastern
Bays, Epuni, Heretaunga, Mangaroa, Wanui-o-mata, Horokiw,
Taupo, Paekakariki, Kapiti, and Whareroa—shall elect one member.
“3. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on a date to
be fixed in that behalf by the Honourable the Minister of Internal
Affairs and notified in the New Zealand Gazette.”
SCHEDULE
Proposed Paekakariki Riding of the County of Hutt
ALL that area in the County of Hutt bounded as follows :
Commencing at the mouth of the Whareroa Stream, situated in
Block II, Paekakariki Survey District; thence proceeding easterly
generally along the middle of that stream to the north-eastern
boundary of the land in the plan numbered 9060, deposited in the
Land Registry Office at Wellington ; thence south-easterly generally
along the north-eastern boundaries of that land to the western side
of No. 13 Levin-Paekakariki State Highway; thence southerly
generally along that western side to a point in line with the western
side of Paekakariki Hill Road; thence to and along the western
side of that road to its junction with eastern boundary of the North
Island Main Trunk Railway and the south-eastern boundary of
Paekakariki 28 2; thence by a right line due north of that junction
to the sea-coast; thence northerly generally along the sea-coast to
the point of commencement.
Proposed Kapiti Riding of the County of Hutt
All that area in the County of Hutt bounded as follows :
Commencing at a point in the middle of the Waikanae River in line
with the eastern boundary of Ngarara West A, Section 63B, situated
in Block III, Kapiti Survey District; thence in a southerly direction
generally to and along the eastern boundaries of Ngarara West A,
Sections 63B and 63A, to the south-eastern corner of the last-
