Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work, and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1948.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown land: 32·9 perches.
Being part Allotment 87, Titirangi Parish, on D.P. 17124.
Situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District (Borough of Mount Roskill), (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 36115.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 131448, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of May, 1950.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Waiau Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4862)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1950
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:
And whereas the district known as the Waiau Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including an additional area therein:
And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such additional area qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers' list for the said district has been given to the inclusion of such additional area in the said district:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid;
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIAU RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Amuri, in the Canterbury Land District, containing 153,000 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line commencing at a point in the centre of the main stream of the Waiau River, the same being in line with the eastern boundary of Section 14, Annan Settlement, Block XIV, Waiau Survey District; thence proceeding in a westerly and northerly direction along the centre of the main stream of the Waiau River to its junction with the Hanmer River; thence to and easterly along the left bank of the Hanmer River aforesaid to its intersection with the fence-line, the same being the southern boundary of Run No. 14, Square 81 (Hossack Run); thence easterly along that boundary to the Lottery River; thence northerly along the right bank of the said Lottery River and the western boundary of Section 126, Square 80, to its north-western corner; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said Section 126, Square 80, the northern boundary of Sections 1 and 21, Square 80 (the same being the existing land district boundary between Canterbury and Marlborough), to the right bank of the Towy River; thence easterly generally along the said right bank of that river to the right bank of the Conway River; thence south-easterly along the right bank of the Conway River aforesaid to its junction with the right bank of the Gelt River in Block I, Hawkswood Survey District; thence south-westerly along the said right bank of that river to the easternmost corner of Lot 3, Deposited Plan No. 2884; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 3, Deposited Plan No. 2884, the north-western boundary of Lot 2, Deposited Plan No. 2884, and the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, Deposited Plan No. 2884, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence across and easterly along the left bank of the Gelt River to the easternmost corner of Section 16, Square 80, Block IV, Waiau Survey District; thence north-westerly and westerly along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of that section; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Section 15, Square 80, to its north-western corner; thence north-westerly along the fence-line bisecting the southern portion of Section (part) 48, Square 80 (the same being the northern boundary of the Mendip Hills Estate), to and across a road to the easternmost corner of Section 4, Annan Settlement; thence south-westerly generally along the eastern and southern boundaries of that section, the eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, and 14, Annan Settlement, to the stock reserve on the Stanton River; thence along the old rabbit fence to the Stanton River back in a northerly direction to the eastern boundary of Section 14; thence along same in a southerly direction and the last-named boundary produced to the centre of the main stream of the Waiau River, the point of commencement.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street off Riverlaw Terrace, in the City of Christchurch, Subject to a Condition as to the Building-line

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of May, 1950

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 31 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1948, and section 125 of the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the Christchurch City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft., subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 130844, referred to in the said Schedule, within a distance of 48 ft. from the centre-line of the said street.
SCHEDULE
THAT proposed street in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 13·7 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1, D.P. 1884, part Rural Section 16. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 130844, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Authorizing the Acquisition of Land Notwithstanding the Provisions as to Limitation of Area

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1950

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section two hundred and forty-six of the Maori Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the disposition to and acquisition by Clifton Lands, Limited, of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the provisions of Part XII of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
FIRST, all that parcel of land containing 979 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less, being the residue of Lot 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 7232, which said parcel of land is portion of the block situated in the Pakaumanu and Ranginui Survey Districts called Rangitoto A No. 28, and being the residue of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 197, folio 170, of the Auckland Registry.
Secondly, all that parcel of land containing 981 acres and 18 perches, more or less, being the residue of Lot 4 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 7232, which said parcel of land is portion of the block situated in the Pakaumanu and Ranginui Survey Districts called Rangitoto A No. 28, and being the residue of the land described in Certificate of Title, Volume 197, folio 171, of the Auckland Registry.
Thirdly, all that parcel of land containing 981 acres 12 perches, more or less, being the residue of Lot 2 on a plan deposited at the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 7232, which said parcel of land is portion of the block situated in the Pakaumanu and Ranginui Survey Districts called Rangitoto A No. 28, and being the residue of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 197, Folio 169, of the Auckland Registry.
