Alterations to the Scale of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1949, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 13th day of April, 1939, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of April, 1939, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of April, 1939, and the Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 12th day of May, 1948, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of May, 1948, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of May, 1948, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic, and do hereby declare that such alterations shall come into force on the 15th day of May, 1950.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

PASSENGERS

The fares and rates as set out in the following regulations will be increased by 15 per centum; minimum increase, 1d.:

25. Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, &c.

Omit this regulation, and substitute the following:β€”

  1. Members of the following organizations, in parties of not less than six in number, travelling in uniform to attend parades or instruction camps, may be issued special excursion tickets (Regulation 6):

    Boy Scouts.
    Boys' Brigade.
    Girl Guides.
    Girls' Life Brigade.
    Navy League Sea Cadets.

Each application for tickets must be accompanied by a certificate in the following form:β€”

I hereby certify that . . . . . . . members of the . . . . . . . organization are travelling in uniform from . . . . . . . to . . . . . . . to attend a parade [or instruction camp] at . . . . . . . on . . . . . . .

. . . . . . ., Authorized Officer.
  1. Members of the organizations mentioned in paragraph 1 hereof under fifteen years of age included in a party, or forming a party travelling under the provisions of this regulation, may be granted half the adult concession fare.
