BOUNDARIES OF THE TAONUI RIDING, COUNTY OF KAIRANGA
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Kairanga County,
bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the boundary
of the Kairanga County and the Middle of the Manawatu River in
Block I, Arawaru Survey District, and proceeding westerly, north-
easterly and south-easterly generally, along the boundary of that
county as hereinbefore described to the middle of the Manawatu
River ; thence south-westerly down the middle of that river to a point
in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 10732 ; thence
north-westerly along that line to the right bank of the Manawatu
River ; thence north-westerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly
along the boundary of the City of Palmerston North as hereinbefore
described to the south-eastern corner of Lot 4, D.P. 2826 ;
thence south-easterly along the production of the north-eastern
boundary of that lot to the middle of the Manawatu River ; thence
south-westerly down the middle of that river to its intersection with
the county boundary, the point of commencement.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged
Servicemen
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to
the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of
the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the
application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which
the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of
discharged servicemen :
And whereas the said Committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of
the land, did on the 31st day of March, 1950, make an order determin-
ing the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was
made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any
further time allowed by the Court :
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the being serving outside New Zealand in any of His
Majesty's Forces or in any British ship :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is
taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 8th day of June, 1950, as the date on which the said
land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block IV, Corwar Survey District, con-
taining by admeasurement seven hundred and ninety-eight (798)
acres and twenty-five (25) perches, more or less, being part of Lot 4
on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch, and
numbered 2010, and being parts of Rural Sections 26764, 30537,
and 30878, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title,
Volume 510, folio 123 (Canterbury Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule
hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st August,
1950, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the
21st June, 1950, as the date on or before which objections may be
made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL those areas containing together eighty-three (83) acres two (2)
roods eleven decimal eight (11·8) perches, more or less, being
parts of pre-emptive right under application 2293, Block IV,
Awamoko Survey District, and being all of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title, Volume 155, folio 253 (Otago
Registry).
Also all those areas containing together one hundred and thirty-
seven (137) acres three (3) roods five (5) perches, more or less, being
Allotment B on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at
Dunedin, under number 2358, and being also part of Section 64,
Block I, and parts of a closed road, part of pre-emptive right under
application 2293, and parts of Sections 3, 4, and 5, Block IV,
Awamoko Survey District, being all the land comprised and described
in certificate of title, Volume 168, folio 184 (Otago Registry).
Also all that area containing by admeasurement eighty (80)
acres, more or less, being Sections 7 and 8, Block IV, Awamoko
Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in
certificate of title, Volume 237, folio 87, limited as to parcels (Otago
Registry).
Also all that area containing by admeasurement sixty-one (61)
acres two (2) roods two (2) perches, more or less, being parts of
Sections 42, 43, and 44, Block I, Awamoko Survey District, and
being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title,
Volume 247, folio 25, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).

being Sections 60, 61, and 62, and parts Sections 59 and 63, Block I,
Section 28 and parts of Section 30, Block IV, Awamoko Survey
District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate
of title, Volume 241, folio 165, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).
Also all those areas containing together four hundred and
eighty-six (486) acres and twelve decimal three four (12·34) perches,
more or less, being Sections 80, 81, and parts of sections 57, 58, 84,
and 85, Block I, and Sections 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 22, and part of
Section 23, Block IV, Awamoko Survey District, and being all the
land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 249,
folio 185, limited as to parcels, subject to Order in Council No. 3043,
exempting the western side of portion of Jardine Road fronting the
part of Section 23 herein, from the provisions of section 128 of the
Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a condition as to building-line
(Otago Registry).
Also all that area containing by admeasurement two (2) acres
three (3) roods twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, being Section
55, Block I, Awamoko Survey District, and being all the land
comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 257, folio
112, limited as to parcels (Otago Registry).

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block IX, Waiau Survey District,
for the Settlement of Ex-servicemen
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in
the Schedule hereto for the settlement of ex-servicemen : And notice
is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Orawia and is there open for
inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 2 acres
3 roods 21 perches.
Being part of Section 7R, Block IX, Waiau Survey District
(Southland R.D.)
In the Southland Land District ; as the same is more particu-
larly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 131386, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured blue.

Wellington, 8th May, 1950.
PURSUANT to the provisions of Regulation 4 of the Social
Security (Hospital Benefits for Outpatients) Regulations 1947,
I, Jack Thomas Watts, Minister of Health, give notice that I have
approved of the following valve-type hearing-aids for the purposes
of these regulations :—
