Roads Traversing Maori Land Proclaimed as Public Roads in Block
III, Whangaruru, Block I, Opuawhanga, and Block XVI, Russell
Survey Districts, North Auckland Land District

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the roads described in the Schedule hereto traverse
Maori land and have been used by the public as public
roads and have been formed, improved, or maintained out of public
funds:
And whereas the Maori Land Court, by an order made on the
eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, and
issued pursuant to section four hundred and eighty-four of the Maori
Land Act, 1931, ordered and declared the said roads to be public
roads:
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the
public interest that the said roads should be proclaimed as public
roads, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the
Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six
of the Maori Land Act, 1931:
And whereas it is now expedient that the said roads should be
proclaimed as public roads:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and
eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as
public roads the roads described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as roads: 47 acres
0 roods 10 perches.
Being portion of Pare mata Mokau Block, being the whole of Mokau
Valley Road and Helena Bay Road on D.P. 7246.
Situated in Block III, Whangaruru, Block I, Opuawhanga, and
Block XVI, Russell Survey Districts. (M.L. 13281.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/3126,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
at Wellington, under No. 3039, and thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 8th day of May, 1950.

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
street and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the
Borough of Motueka as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and
I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and
after the 15th day of May, 1950.

General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect
on and after the 15th day of May, 1950.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 23-3 perches.
Being part Lot 1, D.P. 15984, being part of the Block granted to
Robert Burrows, and others, by Crown Grant dated 23rd
December, 1851.
