At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of March, 1950

THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct that the District Valuation Rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifty.

IN exercise of the discretion conferred upon him by subsection (2) of section 8 of the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, the Valuer-General intends to exercise the authority conferred by the foregoing Order in Council only so far as it relates to the properties on the district valuation rolls that lie within the portions described in the first column of the Schedule hereto of the districts named in the second column of said Schedule.

Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

David Archibald Wright,

being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Assistant Naval Secretary at Wellington, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of April, 1950.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

Territorial Force—

Temp. Captain W. E. S. Halford, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 1st July, 1949.

Captain D. J. Riddiford, M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 16th November, 1944, and is posted to the 1st Heavy Mortar Battery R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Douglas George Stevenson (late Captain, 2 N.Z.E.F.) to be Captain, with seniority from 23rd November, 1947, and is posted to the 4th Medium Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant H. G. Menzies, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th March, 1946, and is posted to the 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant T. H. Baker, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th April, 1947, and is posted to the 10th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. 2nd Lieutenant R. J. Ross, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st December, 1948, and is posted to the 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.

Temp. Captain J. T. Stewart, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 14th May, 1941. Dated 26th September, 1949.

Temp. Captain L. G. Mitchell, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 2nd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st May, 1942. Dated 13th March, 1950.

Temp. Captain K. J. Palmer, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 13th December, 1943. Dated 25th September, 1949.

Temp. Lieutenant G. Maskell, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 2nd April, 1943. Dated 31st January, 1950.
