PURSUANT to section eighteen of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1942, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS

THESE regulations may be cited as the Anderson Gift Regulations 1943, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Anderson Gift Regulations 1943* (herei after referred to as the principal regulations).

These regulations shall come into force on the day following their notification in the Gazette.

Regulation 7 of the principal regulations is hereby amended by revoking subclause (6).

Taking Land for Public Purposes at Rarotonga (Cook Islands)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of March, 1950
Present:
THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section three hundred and fifty-seven of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the following public purpose—namely, for the purpose of public health.

ALL that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing two roods thirty-one perches (2 roods 31 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 1.

All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing three roods six perches (3 roods 6 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 2.

All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing three roods twenty-nine perches (3 roods 29 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 3.

All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing one acre and thirty-two perches (1 acre and 32 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 4.

All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing three acres two roods twenty-four perches (3 acres 2 roods 24 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 6.

All that parcel of land situate in the District of Avarua in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing five acres and twenty perches (5 acres and 20 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Pokoinu Section 107.
The above-described parcels of land altogether comprising twelve acres one rood twenty-two perches (12 acres 1 rood 22 perches), as delineated and edged red in the plan numbered 48, signed by the Acting Resident Commissioner of Rarotonga, and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the High Court of the Cook Islands at Rarotonga.

Exempting Land in the Westland Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal-Mines Act, 1925

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection two of section one hundred and seventy-one of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be exempt from the operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

ALL that area of land situated in the Westland Land District containing by admeasurement 35·2 perches, be the same a little more or less, and being the whole of the land comprised in Section 67 of the Township of Blackball. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Hokitika, as No. 84.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 24th day of March, 1950.

Portion of Hamilton Domain Set Apart as a Site for a Public Hall

N pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section forty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that that portion of the Hamilton Domain, described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, be set apart as a site for a public hall.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in the City of Hamilton, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 18·5 perches, more or less, being Lot 10, D.P. 16474, being parts of Allotments 210 and 211, Kirikiriroa Parish, Block XIV, Komakorau Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/178K. deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of November, 1949.

Declaring an Area at Hart’s Creek, Southbridge Survey District, in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District, to be a Sanctuary

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–1922, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a sanctuary for the purpose of the said Act.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by admeasurement 486 acres, more or less, being Reserve 3192, Block III, Southbridge Survey District. As the same may be delineated on the plan marked, I.A. 52/102, deposited in the Head Office, Internal Affairs Department at Wellington, and thereon bordered red, and as may be further defined by the erection of white-painted posts.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of April, 1950.

Dockyard, Devonport, Auckland, vice Washbourn (date to be reported).
Cadet (L) John Anthony Burns, promoted to the rank of Midshipman (L) and re-appointed, to date 17th January, 1950.
Probationary Chaplain Henry Gordon Taylor, D.S.O., B.A., confirmed in rank with original seniority of 25th February, 1941.
