OPUNAKE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR LOAN

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts
and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Opunake Electric-power
Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges
on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) (to be known as the
Reticulation Loan, 1949), authorized to be raised by the Opunake
Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for extending
the electrical reticulation in the Power Board District, the said
Opunake Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special
rate of one-thirteenth of a penny (1/13d.) in the pound upon the rate-
able value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property
in the Opunake Electric-power District as at present constituted ;
and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of the said loan and be payable annually on the 1st
day of April (1st April) in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years (25 years) or until
the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed
at a duly convened meeting of the Opunake Electric-power Board
held on 10th March, 1950.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Whakatane
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £25,000, authorized to be raised by the Whaka-
tane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the
purpose of constructing a reservoir, intake and low-lift pumping
station, flocculation plant, purchasing and installing a rising main,
pipes, motors, pumps (including spares), and general equipment,
engineering fees and land purchase, the said Whakatane Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three
farthings (2¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis
of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough
of Whakatane, and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of April in each year and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until
the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and
the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute
a certain public work—namely, the providing of additional land
for the purpose of the sportsground in the City of Nelson known
as Trafalgar Park—and for the purposes of such public work the
lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken :

And notice is hereby further given that a surveyed plan of the
lands so required to be taken has been deposited in the Land Transfer
Office at Nelson under No. 4208, and a copy thereof is deposited
in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate
in Trafalgar Street, and is open for inspection without fee by all
persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
land must state their objections in writing and send the same,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Trafalgar Street, Nelson.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the parcel of land required to be taken :
27·3 perches. Being portion of Section No. 239A, in the City of
Nelson, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
above mentioned, and thereon coloured red.

before described and defined shall be further altered so as to include
in the said Special Area all that area more particularly described in
the Schedules hereto and further resolves that the said area shall
form part of and be included in the Subdivision B of the said Special
Area and that the boundaries of the said Subdivision B shall be
altered accordingly so as to include all that area more particularly
described in the Schedules hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Kowhai Terrace

ALL that area of land in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a
line commencing at a point on the Special Area boundary, such point
being the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. No. 8028 ; thence
southerly along its eastern boundary to the south-eastern corner
