Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of March, 1950

Present:

THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the members of the Ratana Church resident in the Whangape District as a burial-ground.

PURSUANT to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation, for the common use of the Ngatihaunui-a-Paparangi Tribe as a burial-ground, marae, and place of historical interest.

SCHEDULE

ALL that land containing an area of 1 acre 2 roods 39 perches, more or less, being the Maori Land Court subdivision known as Morikau No. 1 Section 31A Residue B No. 1, situated in Block II, Tauakira Survey District, as shown on plans numbered W.D. 4433 and W.D. 4434, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.A. 30/4/6, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Maori Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

PURSUANT to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council doth hereby set apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation, for the common use of the Ngati Turangi Hapu as a place of historic and scenic interest.

ALL that land containing an area of 60 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, being the Maori Land Court subdivision known as Hautu 3D Block (Te Kapau Island), situated in Block VI, Puketi Survey District.
