Special Order Made by the Manukau County Council Declaring That Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, Shall not Apply to That Council

THE following special order made by the Manukau County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER
“That the Manukau County Council doth hereby resolve and declare that Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Council of the County of Manukau.”
I, Neil MacDougall, Chairman of the Manukau County Council, do hereby declare that the above resolution was passed by way of special order at a properly constituted special meeting of the Manukau County Council held on Tuesday the 24th day of January, 1950, and was duly confirmed at a properly constituted special meeting of the Manukau County Council held on Thursday the 23rd day of February, 1950.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Palmerston North, Feilding, and Upper Hutt Fire Boards

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act, 1949, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Thursday, the 6th April, 1950, to be the date for holding the election of one member of each of the Palmerston North, Feilding, and Upper Hutt Fire Boards by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the resignation of Mr. L. C. Robinson.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
—
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 22nd day of February, 1950, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 18th day of April, 1950, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing ninety-nine (99) acres two (2) roods twenty-eight (28) perches, more or less, being part Sections IV, 76 and 77, District of Moutere Hills, and part closed road situated in Block IV, Wai-iti Survey District, and being all the land in certificate of title registered in Vol. 103, folio 241, Nelson Registry, excepting thereout an area of one (1) acre one (1) rood thirty (30) perches, more or less, being Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Town of Upper Moutere Extension No. 5, shown on Scheme Plan No. 409, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Nelson.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring an Interest in Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
—
WHEREAS an application was made for the consent of the Land Settlement Board to the transfer of a lease of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto and to which section 4 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Amendment Act, 1948, applies:
And whereas the said Land Settlement Board was of the opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said Land Settlement Board was not satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the lessee’s interest in the said land and was satisfied that the proposed transferee under the said transaction is not a child of the transferor who intends to reside personally on the land and to farm the same exclusively for his own use and benefit:
And whereas the said Land Settlement Board referred the said transaction to the appropriate Land Valuation Committee:
And whereas the said Land Valuation Committee did on the 8th day of February, 1950, make an order determining the basic value of the said land and the value of the interest of the lessee therein:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was lodged within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 4 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Amendment Act, 1948, doth hereby declare that the interest of the lessee in the said land is hereby taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman and hereby specifies the 18th day of April, 1950, as the date on which the interest of the lessee in the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block XI, Geraldine Survey District, containing by admeasurement ninety-two (92) acres and twenty-four (24) perches, more or less, being Sections 1 and 4c, Ōhapi Settlement, and being all the land comprised in Special Tenure Lease No. 424, registered as certificate of title, Vol. 465, folio 94 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that area situated in Blocks VI and X, Geraldine Survey District, containing by admeasurement twenty-six (26) acres one (1) rood and thirty-one (31) perches, more or less, being Lot 4 of Reserve 389, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 128, folio 234 (Canterbury Registry).
