IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in him by the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation
Encouragement) Act, 1929, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby consent to the establishment and maintenance by the
Maniototo County Council of an aerodrome on that area of land
commonly known as the Ranfurly Aerodrome.

Recreation Reserve in South Auckland Land District Brought Under
Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and
National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve
for recreation in the South Auckland Land District described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the
operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II
of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter form part of the
Ohinewai Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with
as a public domain by the Ohinewai Domain Board.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALLOTMENT 656, Taupiri Parish, situated in Blocks VII and VIII,
Rangiriri Survey District: Area, 8 acres 2 roods, more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Ashburton County Council

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day of
March, 1950

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been
duly set apart as a reserve for a gravel-pit: And whereas,
in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest
the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants
of the County of Ashburton:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by
section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the
date hereof the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall
become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the
County of Ashburton, in trust, for a gravel-pit.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 13 perches,
more or less, being Reserve 4577, formerly part of Lot 6 on a plan
deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under
No. 2005, and being part of Rural Section 30562, situated in
Block I, Rangitata Survey District (S.O. 8169). As the same
is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/1700B,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Varying an Order in Council Vesting in the North Canterbury Catch-
ment Board Control of Watercourses in the North Canterbury
Catchment District

March, 1950

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section one hundred and thirty of the Soil Con-
servation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby vary the Order in Council made on the
twentieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16 of the twenty-first
day of the same month at page 351, vesting in the North Canterbury
Catchment Board control of watercourses in the North Canterbury
Catchment District by inserting in clause (1) after the words "under
the control of any local authority," the words "and any water-
course situated upon and used wholly or in part for the drainage
of any road reserve or highway."

Appointment of Warden Under Mining Act, 1926

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by section nine of the Mining Act, 1926, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Robert McIntosh Grant, Esquire,
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under
and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure on and
from the 1st day of March, 1950.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 14th day of March, 1950.

Appointment of Member of Medical Council Under Medical
Practitioners Act, 1914

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section three of the Medical Practitioners Act,
1914, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint

Edward George Sayers, M.B., Ch.B. (Univ. N.Z.)
to be a member of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Act.
