Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Kumeroa Domain, Hawke’s Bay Land District

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Kumeroa Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Kumeroa Domain under its control described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—PORTION OF KUMEROA DOMAIN SECTION 14, Block VI, Kumeroa Village, situated in Block IX, Tahoraiti Survey District : Area, 1 rood, more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of February, 1950.

Land Reserved in the Canterbury Land District

WHEREAS by the one-hundred and sixty-seventh section of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest and notice thereof shall be published in the Gazette :

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the land in the Canterbury Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a gravel-pit.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 13 perches, more or less, being Reserve 4577, formerly part of Lot 6 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 2005, and being part of Rural Section 30562, situated in Block I, Rangitata Survey District (S.O. 8169). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/1700R, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of March, 1950.

Land Reserved in the South Auckland Land District for Recreation Purposes

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Whangarei Borough Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Whangarei Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :-

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WHANGAREI SCENIC RESERVE ALL that area in the Borough of Whangarei containing by admeasurement 84 acres 1 rood 30-6 perches, more or less, situated in Block XII, Purua Survey District, being Lots 1 and 3 on the plan numbered 13936, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Allotment 1, Parish of Whangarei, and being all the land contained in Certificates of Title, Volume 384, folio 152, and Volume 376, folio 226. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/212A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of March, 1950.

Vesting the Control of the Kauri Glen Scenic Reserve in the North Shore Scenic Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in trust for the purposes of scenery preservation, as from the date of this notice until the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) in the North Shore Scenic Board, as constituted by notification dated the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, and published in Gazette of the eighth day of that month.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—KAURI GLEN SCENIC RESERVE ALL that area containing by admeasurement 24 acres 0 roods 6-2 perches, more or less, being Allotment 8, Parish of Takapuna, and part Lot 29 of Allotment 7, Parish of Takapuna. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/386, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. North Auckland plans : 22493 (blue) and D.P. 2658 (green).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of March, 1950.
