long. 175° 42'.55 E. (approx.). Chart No. 2574.
Abridged description: Fl. 3 secs. 44 ft. 4 M. (U).
Details: An unwatched light showing one flash every 3 seconds,
thus—0·3 secs. flash—will be exhibited on lst March, 1950, from a
pole structure in the above position. Elevation 44 ft., height of pole
12 ft., visibility 4 miles.

By-laws Regulating Traffic on the Rangitikei River Bridge at Bulls,
on the Wanganui-Levin State Highway
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 9
of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and by section 155 of the
Public Works Act, 1928, the Main Highways Board made on the
16th day of May, 1945, by-laws which were published in the New
Zealand Gazette dated 21st February, 1946, in respect of regulating
traffic on the Rangitikei River Bridge at Bulls, on the Wanganui-
Levin State Highway:
And whereas the Board, by a resolution duly passed at a
meeting held at Wellington on the 15th day of December, 1949,
decided that such by-laws should be revoked:
Now, therefore, the said Board, acting by authority of the
said Act and of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers
in anyway enabling it in this behalf, doth hereby revoke the afore-
mentioned by-laws as from the date of publication of this notice
in the Gazette.
In witness whereof the common seal of the Main Highways
Board is hereunto affixed this 26th day of January, 1950, in the
presence of--

Unclaimed Lands.-Notice by the Public Trustee Under the Public
Trust Office Act, 1908, and its Amendments
To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel
of land containing 1 rood, more or less, being Section l, Block
XX, Town of Palmerston, being all the land comprised in
certificate of title, Vol. 9, folio 199, Otago Registry, and being
all the land comprised in a grant dated the 20th day of
September, 1872, under the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866, to
one Edward John Filewood, of Palmerston, Settler.
WHEREAS after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described
land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no
known agent in New Zealand: Now, the Public Trustee hereby
calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication
of this notice in the Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the
Public Trustee his title to the said land, and if he fails or neglects
so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise as regards the said land
the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public
Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.

Revoking a Notice Defining Lands in Wellington Land District
(Raetiihi Farm Settlement) to which Water is Supplied Pursuant
to Section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939
WHEREAS, pursuant to subsection (5) of section 8 of the
Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939, a notice was published
in Gazette No. 10 of the 27th February, 1947, page 267, notifying
that the lands defined in the Schedule hereto are lands to which
water is supplied under the said section:
And whereas it is expedient that the aforesaid notice should
be revoked:
It is therefore hereby notified in pursuance of subsection (6) of
section 50 of the Land Act, 1948, that the said notice is accordingly
revoked.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
All that area situated in the County of Waimarino, containing by
admeasurement 1,083 acres 3 roods, being Sections 10, 11, 12, 13,
14, and 15, Block VII, Makotuku Survey District (Raetiihi Farm
Settlement), the said land being more particularly delineated on
a plan numbered 21259, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Land in the Otago Land District for Sale or Lease
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 28th February, 1950.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for
sale or lease under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will
be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin,
up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 29th March, 1950.
Applicants may be required by the Commissioner of Crown
Lands, Dunedin, acting on behalf of the Land Settlement Board,
to appear personally in support of their applications at a time
and place to be advised.
The ballot will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 5th April, 1950, and
persons who so wish may attend.
The successful applicant is required to pay, immediately on
notification of result of ballot, a deposit comprising the first half-
year's rent or deposit on deferred payments, broken period rent, and
lease fee, or the purchase-price of the property plus title fee.
SCHEDULE
TOWN OF WANAKA, LAKE COUNTY
SECTION 43, Block IX: Area, 1 rood. Rental value or purchase-
price, £40. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Deferred payments:
Half-yearly instalment (term: ten years), £1 17s. 10d; Renewable
lease: Half-yearly rent (term: thirty-three years), 18s.
This section which is steep, with a westerly aspect, commands an
excellent lake view and is suitable for use as a dwelling site. It
fronts Lismore Street being situated about half a mile from the
Wanaka Post-office and approximately one mile from Wanaka School.
Priority will be given to applications from-
(1) Ex-servicemen of World War II or the wives or widows of
such ex-servicemen;
(2) Persons who produce conclusive evidence of their intention
to build immediately a permanent residence.
