CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch, a body corporate under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments, for the purposes of a substation-site, all that parcel of land situated in Block X of the Christchurch Survey District, containing 1 rood and 0·5 perches, being Lot 14 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 3805, part Rural Section 163, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 374, folio 110, subject to the fencing covenant contained in Outstanding Conveyance Registered No. 118815.

And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected shall, if they have any objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the 12th day of February, 1949, addressed to the Town Clerk, Christchurch.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 9th day of February, 1949, presented to the said Court by L. D. Nathan and Company, Limited, of Auckland, Merchant, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Auckland on the 25th day of February, 1949, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon ; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose ; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

THE RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS AND CLOSE PORTIONS OF ROADS

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties Act, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, altering the course of the road—and for the purpose of such public work the various lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken ; and, further, that it is proposed to close the various portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Notice is further given that plan of the lands so required to be taken for road and the portions of road proposed to be closed are deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council at Ngaruawahia, and at the offices of Messieurs Tompkins and Wake, Solicitors, Wesley Chambers, Victoria Street, Hamilton, and are open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands or by the closing of the said roads who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands or to the closing of the said roads must state their objections in writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice—that is, on or before the 17th day of March, 1949, to the Raglan County Council at Council Chambers, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

NOTICE is hereby given that, by an entry in its minute-book, the above-named company on the 1st day of February, 1949, passed a resolution for voluntary winding up as follows :—

“ (1) That the company be wound up voluntarily ;
“ (2) That Mr. JOHN BLENNERHASSETT BEECHE, of Waihi, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Papakura Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the realignment and reconstruction of a portion of the Papakura–Hunua Highway passing through or adjoining the several pieces of land referred to hereunder in the Borough of Papakura ; for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule are required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk of the said borough situated at the Council Chambers, Papakura, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objection in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers aforesaid.
